The Bold and the Beautiful
THE AUDACITY! B&B’s Melissa Dylan Gets Compared To Brooke Logan By The Last Person Who Should Be Talking
Katie Logan compares B&B’s Melissa Dylan to Brooke Logan, but Katie’s own dating history says otherwise, and it is not close at all.
DOES KATIE LOGAN HAVE ANY RIGHT TO CALL MELISSA DYLAN THE NEXT BROOKE LOGAN?
Katie Logan drags Melissa Dylan for infiltrating a family like a young Brooke Logan on The Bold and the Beautiful, and her own history says she might want to sit this one out.
Katie Logan Goes Straight For The Jugular
Katie Logan does not hold back when Will Spencer tunes her out at work. She tells her son that Melissa Dylan is smart, beautiful, and willing to do anything to chase what she wants, and then drops the comparison she clearly thinks is a knockout blow: Dylan reminds her of Brooke Logan. Not the fun kind of reminder either. Katie says Dylan crawled over her own best friend to get what she wanted, that this is simply who she is, and that exactly like Brooke, she will justify anything in the name of following her heart while using her sexuality to infiltrate a family.
Will pushes back, insisting Melissa Dylan has not betrayed anyone. Katie is not interested in nuance. She tells him this is exactly like Brooke going after Bill and orders him to wake up before walking out, leaving her words rattling around in his head. It is a savage read on a young woman Katie barely knows, delivered with the confidence of someone who has never made a messy choice in her own life.

Wait, Isn’t This Exactly What Katie Once Did?
Here is where this gets deliciously ironic. Katie Logan is not some neutral bystander lecturing from a place of moral high ground. Katie herself slept with Nick Marone back when Brooke was involved with him, and Brooke actually slapped her over it in 2008. The woman calling Melissa Dylan a Brooke clone for chasing a taken man has personally lived the exact plotline she is condemning, from the other side of the slap. Even longtime fans of the show have pointed out how often the Logan sisters end up on both ends of this exact scenario.
That does not automatically make Katie wrong about Dylan. It does mean her outrage comes with an asterisk the size of Los Angeles. Calling someone else a home-wrecking Brooke while sitting on your own home-wrecking history is not exactly the moral mic drop Katie seems to think it is, and Will would have every right to point that out the next time his mother starts lecturing him about love.
Melissa Dylan Isn’t Exactly Playing Innocent Either
To be fair to Katie, she is not inventing this out of thin air. Electra Forrester confronts Dylan directly and accuses her of having no self-respect for sleeping with a man who does not love her, and Dylan does not have a clean rebuttal ready. She admits the guilt is real, that she never meant to hurt Electra, and that she can see exactly why her former best friend is furious. That is a very different energy than a woman smugly infiltrating a family for sport. Electra goes further, telling Dylan she is throwing away their friendship like it meant nothing and that going after Will is unacceptable, which only makes Dylan’s silence in response land harder.
So which is it: calculated Brooke-style scheming, or a messy, guilty, human situation that got out of hand and spiraled fast? The show seems to want us holding both ideas at once, and honestly, that tension is more interesting than either extreme.
The Kiss That Complicates Katie’s Whole Argument
One day later, Will and Melissa Dylan share a quiet, no-labels moment at the beach house, and it reads nothing like a scheme. She calls him one of her top three people, promises she will never walk out on him, and creates the kind of easy, accepting atmosphere Electra’s own frustration suggests has been missing. She even teases him about becoming a better surfer than he is, which is not exactly the energy of a woman running a calculated infiltration plot. If this were really a Brooke Logan power move, it is a strangely gentle way to run one.

Nobody In This Triangle Has Clean Hands
Katie Logan’s comparison landed hard, but her own history with Nick Marone means she is not exactly throwing stones from a glass-free house. Melissa Dylan isn’t innocent either, but a woman feeling genuine guilt is not the same as a woman running a Brooke Logan-style con.
