Daphne would be over the moon, convinced her prayers were finally answered, while Steffy and Carter would be staring at a completely different disaster. Do they still go through with the original plan and let Daphne believe Steffy’s donor-egg baby is a second miracle, ending up with two children in her arms while never learning the truth about either one? That is somehow both a happy ending for Daphne and an absolute horror story waiting to detonate. Even fans speculating online have started floating this exact double-baby scenario as the messiest possible outcome.
Or does Carter panic and call the whole scheme off the moment Daphne shows him a positive test, leaving Steffy holding a baby with nowhere left to hide it? Every version of this theory ends with Daphne raising a child that is not biologically connected to the story she has been told, and none of the people around her seem prepared for that outcome.
Steffy Cannot Actually Hand Over Her Own Child
Here is the part that makes the entire fake surrogacy plan feel doomed from the start: nothing about Steffy Forrester’s history suggests she is capable of giving away a baby that is biologically hers, no matter how clean the cover story looks on paper. She has spent this entire arc panicking, gasping, and repeating “I’m pregnant” to herself like she cannot process it. If Daphne Rose also becomes pregnant in the middle of all this, it gives Steffy the perfect excuse to walk away from the handoff entirely. Daphne gets her own baby, the pressure to fake a surrogacy disappears, and Steffy gets to quietly keep the child everyone assumed she would give up. It is messy, it is a little bit cruel to Daphne’s sense of what really happened, but it might be the only version of this story where Steffy walks away with her baby intact. Given how much heartbreak Daphne has already been through trying to conceive, a natural pregnancy landing at the exact moment it would rewrite this entire scandal feels almost too perfectly timed to be a coincidence on this show.
This Has To Get Messier Before It Gets Clean
None of this untangles neatly. Whether Daphne Rose ends up with one baby or two, whether Steffy keeps her child or hands it over, somebody in this triangle is going to spend years not knowing the full truth about their own family. Carter’s “way out” was never actually a way out, and a surprise pregnancy for Daphne would not fix that. It would only add a second countdown clock ticking next to the first one.
