GH’S STEVE BURTON AND BRADFORD ANDERSON ARE TURNING PODCAST CHEMISTRY INTO A HOLIDAY MOVIE FRANCHISE

Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson are taking their real-life friendship off the podcast mic and onto the big screen. The two General Hospital stars are teaming up to write and star in a holiday whodunit, with plans for it to become an annual franchise.

The Bromance That Already Had Its Own Tour

Long before there was any talk of a movie, Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson had already turned their off-screen friendship into its own little empire. The Jason Morgan and Damian Spinelli actors tour the country together as Stone Cold and The Jackal, and they’ve spent years trading stories on their podcast, all built on the kind of real chemistry that made their GH scenes work in the first place.

Now that chemistry is heading somewhere new. Steve Burton confirmed he and Anderson are writing and starring in a holiday movie together, a “holiday whodunit” produced by Zero Gravity Management, the company behind Netflix’s Ozark. The film follows two unlikely partners who stumble into a small-town Christmas mystery, and if that setup sounds a little familiar, it should. It’s basically Jason and Spinelli with snow.

A Holiday Whodunit With Franchise Plans

The project has reportedly been in the works for over a year, developed alongside writer Stacy Asencio-Sutphen. Casting is underway for the two female leads, with financing and distribution still being sorted, so there’s no title or release date locked down yet.

Here’s the part that should make fans especially happy: this isn’t meant to be a one-off. Anderson and Burton are planning it as the first entry in an annual holiday franchise, meaning a new lighthearted mystery could be arriving every December from here on out.

Two Decades In, Still Going Strong

It tracks that this is coming from two guys who built a stoic-hero-and-hyperactive-hacker duo into one of GH’s most beloved partnerships, then kept the bit going for real once the cameras stopped rolling. Steve Burton made his Port Charles debut back in 1991, Anderson followed in 2006, and nearly two decades later they’re still finding new ways to work together. Steve Burton didn’t offer a release date, but between the podcast, the live tour, and now a movie franchise, retirement clearly isn’t part of the plan.
