This Week in Genoa City

These Y&R Weekly Spoilers put the Newman patriarch firmly in the driver’s seat, handing out instructions to an old enemy one minute and orchestrating a family intervention the next. His daughter, on the other hand, is busy steering a very different kind of operation, one that depends entirely on nobody in the family finding out. Even the people sworn to protect a fragile son can’t agree on how to do it.

Elsewhere, a cosmetics feud stops pretending to be about business, a wedding party quietly rearranges its loyalties, and a few longtime rivals decide that a ceasefire beats another round of sniping. By Friday, at least one secret affair gets more adventurous rather than more careful, which is never a good sign in this town.

Monday, September 28th

Victor Newman sits Matt Clark down and tells him exactly how things are going to go. Matt slipped away from Phyllis’s bed without a goodbye at the end of last week, so the fact that Victor can still reach him says plenty about who holds the leash.

Kyle Abbott and Victoria Newman go into full damage control to protect their secret. Victoria was hiding in a motel room as Matt tore into Kyle outside, and she’s already realized she can’t warn her father about Matt without explaining where she spotted him.

Cane Ashby and Phyllis Summers stumble onto some shared ground, which is a pairing nobody had on their bingo card. Nick Newman catches the two of them together at the GCAC and immediately wants to know what his ex is scheming.

Abby Newman crashes the dinner date of Sally Spectra and Billy Abbott at Society with a question about the baby. The couple claims they’re holding off on finding out the sex, and Abby isn’t entirely sure she believes them.

Diane Jenkins and Nikki Newman collide at Society, and Diane makes it crystal clear she can guard what belongs to her. Nikki doesn’t think they’re talking about Jabot anymore, and she says as much, calling it a fight in the making.

Tuesday, September 29th

Victor pulls out all the stops to surprise Nikki. He has spent the past few weeks promising to keep his hands off her new company, so a big romantic flourish right now is either heartfelt or perfectly timed.

Christine Blair shares some advice with Daniel Romalotti. Daniel has spent recent days behind the bar at the Shadow Room fielding his mother’s crisis over whether she’d be missed if she left town, so he may have a lot on his mind.

Jack Abbott shows up for Nick. Nick had already told Sharon he wanted Jack in his corner as a sponsor, and that makes this an unexpected bond between two families who usually can’t share a room.

Wednesday, September 30th

Victor and Nikki make a difficult choice with Nick’s well-being in mind. Nikki has insisted they keep their doubts about his return to themselves, and Victor has worried out loud about what the pressure of work could do to him, so this decision doesn’t come easily.

Victoria and Kyle put on a convincing show for Claire Newman. Claire recently told her mother she’s working on getting over an ex, and when Victoria asked point-blank whether that meant Kyle, Claire insisted she’s moving on, which makes every innocent glance in that room feel loaded.

Esther Valentine offers Sharon Newman a little homespun perspective. Sharon has been Nick’s biggest cheerleader since he left rehab, and a dose of Esther’s plainspoken insight could land at exactly the right moment.

Thursday, October 1st

Victor convenes a strategy session aimed at getting Nick through this. Nobody runs a family meeting quite like Victor, and when he decides a problem needs solving, he rarely asks the person at the center of it for permission.

Lily Winters lets Nate Hastings in on what’s weighing on her. She has had plenty going on lately, from Cane pushing to move in together to Devon warning that Cane will break her heart again.

Nick decides to handle things his own way. He has spent weeks insisting he’s ready to run his own life again, and he isn’t about to let everyone else steer it for him.

Friday, October 2nd

Kyle discovers there’s more to Victoria than he realized. He promised her a surprise complete with a new place to meet, and this rendezvous shows him a version of her he never expected.

Audra Charles and Chelsea Lawson agree to put down their weapons. Audra fumed when Sally tapped Chelsea as a bridesmaid and admitted she wanted to keep her friend all to herself, so peace between these two is a small miracle.

Adam Newman and Sally come to terms with each other. Billy has made it clear he doesn’t want Adam at the wedding, and Chelsea has been lobbying hard for him to come on his best behavior, so whatever these two agree on could shape the guest list.
