A Week Built Around One Newman
The Young and the Restless spoilers September 28 through October 2 open with Victor Newman sending Matt Clark on his way and close with Kyle Abbott seeing a side of Victoria Newman he never expected. In between, the Newmans circle the wagons around Nick Newman, who has been out of rehab for less than two weeks. Nick told Sharon on Friday that he would accept Jack Abbott‘s offer to be his sponsor, a choice we covered in Nick turning to Jack.
Monday, Sept 28, already aired in Canada, so we know how it plays. Newman security hauls Matt to the ranch, and Victor lets Nick make the final call. Matt says he is leaving for good with Patty Williams, not Phyllis Summers, and swears he can talk Patty into turning herself in. Nick warns him that showing his face in Genoa City again will end badly.
Across town, Kyle hands Victoria the key to a discreet apartment, their new danger zone, and they agree they are not dating. At the athletic club, Phyllis offers to buy every property Cane Ashby picked up on his return, the club included. Cane smells his own abandoned takeover plan.

Tuesday Brings Jack to Nick’s Door
Tuesday, Sept 29, Victor surprises Nikki Newman with a grand gesture, Christine Blair counsels Daniel Romalotti, and Jack offers his support to Nick. Nikki asked Jack to sponsor Nick back on Aug 24, and Victor called it a terrible idea in the same breath. Now Nick has said yes, and Jack walks in with Victor’s objection still on the record.
Wednesday Young and the Restless Spoilers Turn the Newmans Into a Wall
Wednesday, Sept 30, Victor and Nikki make a tough decision to protect Nick. The teaser does not say what it is, and chatter about a secret kept from Nick is unconfirmed. The timing is confirmed: one day after Jack’s offer, one day before Victor gathers the family. I read that order as a Newman answer to an Abbott.
Same day, Victoria and Kyle keep up appearances around Claire Newman, Victoria’s daughter and Kyle’s ex, who has no idea her mother is sleeping with him. Elsewhere, Esther Valentine shares some words of wisdom with Sharon Newman, who has been steady for Nick since the day he came home. Esther rarely gets a spotlight scene, so somebody needs to hear a hard truth.
What is Lily Winters hiding from Cane Ashby on Young and the Restless?
Nobody knows yet. What has aired: Lily Winters was in Chicago on business by the Sept 18 episode, would not tell Devon why, and left Cane begging her by voicemail to come home. The show’s own fall preview says a secret from Lily’s past could put the brakes on their future together. Thursday, Oct 1, she confides in Nate Hastings, her first cousin and a doctor, a turn we saw coming when Lily’s Chicago trip first turned secretive.
Notice who she picks. Cane told her he loves her and asked her to move in on Sept 15. Two weeks later she is unloading on a cousin instead of the man waiting at home.
Thursday Young and the Restless Spoilers Send Nick Off Script
Victor hosts his meeting of the minds to help Nick on the same day the teaser says Nick takes matters into his own hands. The family is closing ranks around a man who has just decided to act alone. Whatever Victor and Nikki settled on Wednesday, Nick is about to show them he never signed off on it.
Friday Ends With a Truce and a Wedding Understanding
Friday, Oct 2, Kyle sees a new side to Victoria. Meanwhile, Chelsea Lawson and Audra Charles call a truce over Sally Spectra‘s wedding. Sally asked Chelsea to step in as a bridesmaid on Sept 21, and Audra, her maid of honor, met the news by dragging up Chelsea’s con-artist past. Friday, Sally gets the peace she asked for, or something close.
The beat every other preview skips: Adam Newman and Sally reach an understanding the same day. Adam is coming to the wedding as Chelsea’s date, and Sally is his ex. If that understanding holds, Billy Abbott‘s guest list, which we already called a reunion of exes, just got one degree less dangerous.
Where These Young and the Restless Spoilers Could Go Next
My gut tells me the Lily secret is medical, not romantic. Lily is a cancer survivor, and the person she chooses to tell is a doctor. Don’t be surprised if Nate hears a diagnosis before Cane hears a confession. On the Newman side, if I know these writers, Victor’s summit ends with Jack on the outside looking in, and Nick’s solo move drags Jack right back in.
