Daphne Takes the Surrogacy Story Straight to Ridge
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say the surrogacy lie gets its biggest audience yet on Thursday, October 1, and Steffy Forrester Finnegan is not in the room to control it. A glowing Daphne Rose Walton shares her baby news with Ridge Forrester and his wife, Brooke Logan. “The surrogate Carter and I have found is a remarkable woman,” she tells them. Then on Friday, October 2, Steffy cracks and cries, “People are going to figure this out!” to Carter Walton, who keeps insisting they have to do this now because they don’t have time.
Ridge is not just any audience. He is Steffy’s father, and her husband, John ‘Finn’ Finnegan, asked him to watch over her before leaving town for a medical conference. Daphne has no idea the remarkable woman is already pregnant, the exact trap we mapped out when Daphne’s baby news first cornered Steffy. Every beat of the week is in this week’s Bold and the Beautiful spoilers.
Here is the ugly math behind the lie. Steffy’s home test came back positive on September 10, and she believes Carter is the father after their one night together in August. Carter’s cover story, sold to his wife, is that Steffy will be their egg donor and surrogate using her frozen eggs, a procedure he promised could happen within the year. Daphne has been buying baby clothes ever since.

Does Daphne Tell Ridge That Steffy Is the Surrogate on Bold and the Beautiful?
That is the one detail the previews can’t agree on. One reading of the network promo has Daphne naming Steffy and Ridge admiring his daughter’s generosity while worrying about her. Two others say Ridge and Brooke hear about the surrogate without learning it is Steffy. The promo line itself names nobody, so Thursday’s episode settles it.
Either way, Ridge walks away with a piece of the puzzle. He and Taylor have both noticed Steffy hasn’t been herself since Monaco. If he hears her name on Thursday, he will want to know why his daughter agreed to carry a child for Carter while her husband is out of town. If he doesn’t, my gut says he finds out soon, and not from Steffy.
Why Steffy Forrester Finnegan Is Running Out of Time
Carter’s rush makes sense once you count the weeks. If the baby dates to that August night, Steffy Forrester Finnegan is roughly eight weeks along by a doctor’s count this Thursday, while the surrogacy she agreed to has not even started. Any pregnancy that begins with a procedure next week would date about six weeks behind the real one. Every ultrasound would tell on her, and eventually so would her waistline.
That is why you should be careful with one preview making the rounds, which claims medical records reveal an embryo transfer never happened. No confirmed spoiler says that. There has been no transfer on screen, and nobody has claimed one, so there is nothing yet for a record to expose. Circulating spoiler chatter points to a faked procedure while Finn is away, possibly with a doctor willing to lie. If I know these writers, a fake procedure only buys Carter a few weeks.
Hope and Katie Stop Playing Nice on Friday
Friday has a second fuse. Hope Logan Spencer and her aunt, Katie Logan Spencer, lay everything on the table. Monday’s episode set it up: Hope admitted her Logan line is missing something, and it is Zende, who hasn’t answered her texts. Meanwhile Katie ordered Dylan to bring Zende to Logan, a mission laid out in our Monday recap of Katie’s Zende test.
The spoilers don’t say what gets said, so reading between the lines is all we have. Hope wants Zende for her line. Katie seems to want him as a shot at Forrester, and she is using her son’s girlfriend to get him. Don’t be surprised if Hope realizes her aunt’s war with Brooke, Hope’s mother, is running her career.
