The Days of Our Lives spoilers around September 30, 2026 hold one showdown fans have waited all week for. Marlena Evans confronts Rita Lesley and demands the truth about Dominic Marino. Rita spent years as Stefano’s secretary, and if anyone in Salem knows where that boy came from, it is her.

One thing first, because the day matters. The confrontation comes from this week’s preview, and no episode grid has placed it yet, Wednesday’s included. The Birth Certificate That Started It All

Here is how we got here. On Friday, Steve Johnson showed Marlena a copy of Dominic’s birth certificate on his phone. It names Stefano DiMera as the father and Marlena Evans as the mother. She has no memory of any such child.

On Monday she asked Steve to keep it quiet, with one exception: Brady Black, her stepson. She admitted what scares her most, too. Dominic’s age lines up with the years Stefano held her on his island. She told Steve she did not want protection. She wanted the truth, which is exactly why her plea to Steve was never going to be the end of it.

Is Dominic Marino Marlena’s Son on Days of Our Lives?

Nobody knows yet, and that is the honest answer. The certificate says so, but paper is not proof, and Stefano spent decades faking paper. Some chatter out there even claims Rita’s name is on the mother’s line, but the document that aired names Marlena. What it cannot tell anyone is how Dominic came to exist, and that is the question Marlena is taking to Rita.

Fans have a reason to worry. Stefano already used Marlena once on that island, when she unknowingly carried Rex and Cassie for him. Could he have done something similar again? Reading between the lines, that is the fear Marlena will not say out loud.

What Rita Lesley Knows and Is Not Saying

Rita has been playing a long game. Earlier this month she stood in front of Stefano’s portrait and told him it was all playing out as he planned. She has kept that plan from her boss, EJ DiMera. When EJ showed her an old photo of Stefano with a young boy, she guessed the boy was Dominic and swore she had no idea what tied him to Stefano. My gut tells me she knows far more.

Does she tell Marlena the truth, or only the version Stefano wanted told? Brady vows to keep Marlena’s secret on Thursday, and EJ confides in Rita on Friday. If I know these writers, Rita walks out of both conversations holding more cards than anyone. For more Salem chatter, keep your eyes on her.

Wednesday: Tate Meets Mason as Holly’s Guilt Takes Over

On Wednesday, Tate Black meets Mason Whitfield, the man who has been making life miserable for Tate’s girlfriend, Holly Jonas. It does not go well. Holly is haunted by her guilt the same day, and she is starting to wonder whether she bears some of the blame Mason keeps throwing at her.

She does get a distraction. Leo Stark records a podcast with Lani Price and Holly about the night Lani saved Holly from a mugger outside the Brady Pub. Leo paints Lani as a hero. Lani stays humble.

Eli Grant encourages his wife to think about her future. Paulina has offered to help Lani seek a pardon so she can get back to police work, though no pardon has come through.

Then there is Kate Roberts, who questions her son Philip Kiriakis about his gambling. Philip insists it is under control. Kate is not buying it, and after he bet it all on 18 red in Monte Carlo, can you blame her? Don’t be surprised if Marlena Evans is not the only one in Salem hunting for the truth this week.
