The Days of Our Lives recap September 30, 2026 opens on Lani Price and a question she does not want to answer. Her mother, Paulina Price, wants to ask the governor for a favor and get Lani a pardon. Eli Grant asked his wife to at least consider it.

Lani pushed back. Everybody keeps pressuring her, she said, and she served her time because she deserved it. Eli was not having it. She was saving her mother’s life, he told her, and she has suffered enough. Then Leo’s podcast called, and the talk got shelved.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Lani Told Her Story on Leo’s Podcast

Two weeks ago, Lani turned down Leo Stark when he pitched her for his podcast about unsung heroes. On Wednesday she sat down at his mic anyway, with Holly Jonas beside her, to talk about the mugging. Lani told listeners to stay alert and call 911 if they see something.

Then Leo asked about Ray Coates, and Lani told it her way. She walked in on Ray with her mother, knowing he had already hurt two people in her family, and believed he was about to hurt Paulina. Leo told his audience she still has the instincts and belongs back on the force.

Off the air, Lani thanked him. It felt good, she said, to get her side out.

Will Lani Price Accept the Pardon on Days of Our Lives?

She has not said yes. Lani still believes she earned her sentence. But she just spent a whole segment explaining herself to Salem while Leo campaigned for her return to the force. My gut says the podcast did more to change her mind than Eli did.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Kate Roberts Grew Suspicious of Philip

At the pub, Philip Kiriakis told Kate Roberts about his winnings. She scolded him, but he said he promised Maggie he would go back to meetings. “I haven’t forgotten what happened,” he said. He wants Kate back at Titan once they save it. She said no.

Meanwhile Leo told Cat Greene and Gwen Rizczech about his undercover work on the fake Gabi Chic handbags, then stopped by the pub and mentioned his secret operation with Philip. Kate asked what that meant. Philip lied that Leo just wants him on a podcast, and handed her a scarf from Monte Carlo.

Kate loved it, but she will not stay distracted for long. Later, Joy Wesley called from the hospital about a package, and Kate promised to send it right over.

Mason Whitfield Opened Up to Tate Black

At the gym, Mason Whitfield came in to sign up just as Holly left to change. Tate Black saw the name on his card and recognized it, because his girlfriend had mentioned Mason a few times. Holly walked in, said she had no problem with it, and left. Tate did not let it go. Explain the problem with Holly, he said, or no membership.

So Mason did. A caller he talked to on the hotline used to talk about Holly all the time, and Mason worried about her even on his days off. Tate said that caller was in pain and caused plenty of it too, including to people he loves.

Mason admitted he felt responsible for not being able to help, and took it out on Holly. “It feels like I failed when I was needed most,” he said. That is the most honest thing Mason has said since he hit town.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Holly Jonas Started Seeing Things Differently

Philip later spotted Mason in the square in a Marines T-shirt, and the two hit it off on the spot. Tate found Holly to return her water bottle and told her about his talk with Mason. The bottom line: both men felt they could have been kinder, and neither thinks it would have changed the outcome.

Then Holly thought she saw that caller in the square. She caught herself and told Tate she is seeing things differently now, but it is too late to do anything about it.
