Bold and the Beautiful recap September 30: Carter tells Steffy they must tell Daphne today, and Dylan comes clean to Will about Katie’s demand.

Carter Wants the Lie Told Today
The Bold and the Beautiful recap September 30 ends with a deadline. Carter Walton told Steffy Forrester Finnegan they are out of time, and they have to tell Daphne Rose Walton today that the implantation has already happened. Across town, Melissa “Miss” Dylan exposed Katie’s plan to Will Spencer, admitting his mother wants her to get Zende talking to Hope.
It started sweetly enough. Steffy told John “Finn” Finnegan by phone that she loves and misses him, and the second she hung up, Carter was at her door. She reminded him he is not supposed to be there. He argued that Finn is out of town and they work together. That was Carter’s latest push on Steffy, and our B&B spoilers for the next two weeks say it lands on Ridge’s desk by Thursday.
Carter told Steffy she can give him and Daphne the child they so desperately want. Steffy could not see it as a beautiful twist of fate, complaining that Daphne thinks she agreed to be her surrogate if she turns out to be a viable candidate. “You did agree,” Carter said, even though he was the one who told Daphne that. He swore it was not a lie, since she just happens to already know she is viable.

Katie Cornered Dylan in the Shower
At the beach house, Katie Logan Spencer sneaked up on Dylan in the outdoor shower. Dylan, in a bikini, explained she already tried with Zende. “Try harder,” Katie snipped. If Dylan wants a long-term relationship with her son, she had better come through. A day after Katie ordered Dylan to finish the job, the leash got shorter.
Katie slipped out when she heard Will’s motorcycle, warning Dylan to “make it happen.” Will saw right away that something was wrong, and Dylan admitted it was his mother. Will was not impressed to learn Katie had recruited her, and he figured out the rest himself: his mom offered to give Dylan a chance if she gets to Zende.
Zende Called It a Demotion
At Forrester, Daphne showed Brooke Logan and Ridge Forrester the packaging for the new fragrance line before the talk turned to Katie, and Zende Forrester Dominguez joined in as Brooke lamented losing Hope to Logan. Zende does not think working with RJ Forrester and Electra is the right move, but Brooke insisted her son RJ is in sync with Electra. Zende’s reply stung: “The way I was in sync with Hope.”
He called the job a demotion, back to square one taking orders from RJ, and Daphne agreed he lacks the experience. Ridge, bizarrely, told him this is what he deserves, then turned on the charm and reminded him he is family.
Does Daphne Know Steffy Is Already Pregnant on Bold and the Beautiful?
No. Daphne believes Steffy agreed to be her egg donor and surrogate, and only Carter knows Steffy is already pregnant. Steffy believes the baby is his from their one night together, but no paternity test has aired.
That is why Wednesday matters. Carter Walton is not just asking Steffy to keep a secret anymore. He wants to rewrite the calendar, turning a pregnancy that began weeks ago into a procedure that supposedly just happened. And Daphne is set to share her baby news with Ridge and Brooke on Thursday, so the story reaches Steffy’s father almost as soon as it leaves Carter’s mouth.
Carter Walton Says They Have to Tell Daphne Today
At Logan, Hope Logan Spencer reported that Deke is working as fast as he can, but “He needs Zende.” Katie fumed and promised Hope she will make it happen. At the beach house, Will told Dylan his mother needs to start respecting his opinion. “You’re the best thing in my life.” They kissed.
Back at the cliff house, Carter gushed about how excited Daphne already is. Steffy shot back that he sold her on it, and when Carter said his wife wanted a friend as their donor, Steffy exploded: “Not a friend who slept with her husband!” She wants this for them, but she does not know if she can do it, and he admitted it is risky. “We don’t have time.”
My gut says Carter Walton is rushing because he knows the math cannot wait. If I know these writers, the implantation story holds for exactly one scene, and that scene is Daphne naming Steffy as her surrogate to Ridge.

Carter Just Made Steffy the Face of His Lie
Carter gets to stand next to Daphne and smile. Steffy is the one who has to carry the story, to Daphne, to her father and eventually to Finn. Carter calls it a plan. I call it handing Steffy all the risk.
