SALLY’S BACHELORETTE GETS WILD IN THIS Y&R CANADIAN DAY-AHEAD

Sally Spectra’s Guest List Needs a Rescue Mission

This Y&R Canadian Day-Ahead belongs to the bride, and Sally Spectra strolls into Society expecting a bachelorette bash and finding a very small crowd. Traci Abbott, Chelsea Lawson, Abby Newman, and Audra Charles applaud her entrance while Abby fetches the guest of honor a mocktail, and Sally wonders aloud whether it’s only the five of them. Chelsea confesses that the cancellations kept piling up, so they started recruiting people off the street. Nothing says “bachelorette” like a headcount held together by hope and strangers.

Reinforcements arrive in the form of Claire Newman, Victoria Newman, and Lily Winters, and Sally toasts the occasion by pointing out it’s never too late to make friends, even with the groom’s ex-wives. It’s a lovely sentiment and also a fairly accurate description of the guest list. She assures Audra and Chelsea they’ve done a wonderful job, which is generous considering nobody has checked on dessert.

Abby and Claire trade notes on their guys while a scramble breaks out in the corner. Chelsea and Audra, two women who agree on nothing, discover they have both forgotten the cake, and the bickering sends them racing off. Sally hears the commotion and chases after them, a heartwarming picture of a bride refereeing her own party.

Will Chelsea and Audra survive an entire evening without bloodshed? Email your theories to amber@soapoperamagazine.com. We love a spicy guess.

The Abbott Men Roast Billy Within an Inch of His Life

Over at the Abbott estate, Kyle Abbott and Jack Abbott read a text from Diane Jenkins about recovering in her sick bed, which means one fewer person to keep the peace. Michael Baldwin and Cane Ashby arrive with their instructions, everyone applauds Billy Abbott as he walks in, and Jack pours the drinks. Billy wonders what the entertainment will be. Kyle announces that this is not only a bachelor party. It’s a roast, and the guest of honor is the main course.

Michael kicks it off by ribbing Billy about skipping a prenup, his Jamaican wedding, and his fashion sense, then declares that all the sympathy belongs to Sally for what she’s marrying into. Cane follows with a toast about how he and Billy fight like real family, how he usually wins, and how both men share a deep need for Jill Abbott‘s respect. He also points out that between them they’ve collected three or four ex-wives apiece, and he admits he knows he was only invited because Billy has no friends. Kyle teases Billy for changing careers the way other people change socks, and the podcast takes a beating too.

At the break, Jack welcomes Cane, and the two hope Billy is finally seeing what matters in his life. Cane adds that he would marry Lily again tomorrow, which lands a little differently when the audience knows what she’s carrying around. Michael and Billy chat about what happened with Victoria, and in a delightful bit of timing, Kyle sneaks off to text her. The best burn of the evening is the one nobody in the room can see.

The toasts resume with Jack, who tells the story of Jaboat, reminds everyone they’re there because they care, and predicts Billy will be a great husband and father, the kind their father would be proud of. Cue the hugs and applause. Billy admits he learned a lot, most of it accurate, though he’d like the record to show he was an excellent podcast host. Kyle swears they’ll do this again, and Billy says he’s as happy as he can be about Sally and the baby and can’t wait to start their life together.

Lily Winters Is Not Fine, and Traci Abbott Can Tell

Back at Society, Traci settles in with Lily, who insists that all is well. Traci, who has seen this movie before, thinks Lily looks like a woman who needs to talk. They grab a table, and Lily admits there’s a chance her cancer has returned. Traci is stunned that she hasn’t told Cane and confident he would step up for her. If only the man were in the room instead of making toasts across town.

Elsewhere, the Newmans at the table talk about Nick Newman and hope he stays sober, a lovely wish for a man who recently walked back into Crimson Lights with a pocketful of pills. Then Sally lights up like a Christmas tree, because Coco Spectra appears. Sally admires her sister’s baby bump and introduces her around, and the party gains a second Spectra with opinions about the cake situation.

Something Old, Something Borrowed, Something Gaudy

Chelsea announces it’s time for gifts, and the traditions come out swinging. Coco hands over the big earrings that belonged to their great-aunt Sally Spectra, because something gaudy from the Spectra family had to be included, and that’s the something old. Audra produces her grandmother’s rosary as the something borrowed, which is also the first time Sally has heard Audra had a grandmother. Chelsea delivers the something blue, a brooch from Jill that Katherine Chancellor gave her, along with Chelsea’s certainty that “the old battle axe” would have adored Sally. Sally tears up, since this is more love and attention than she and Coco are used to. Something new is still missing from the lineup. Hold that thought.

Victoria starts texting with Kyle until Claire and Traci interrupt, and the conversation swings to Holden Novak and to Kyle getting back out there, a topic Victoria handles with a poker face and a phone in her lap. In the corner, Chelsea and Audra resume the dessert feud until Abby steps in and leads them away. The pair return with pastries sent by Ashley Abbott from Paris, and Chelsea admits fetching the cake may have been her job. Audra concedes it might have been on her to-do list too. They agree they did a great job anyway, which is the most diplomatic fiction of the evening. Abby puts on music, and everyone dances.

Esther Valentine Books the Entertainment

Esther Valentine arrives with a friend who happens to be an exotic dancer, and Sally gently assures both of them that dancing isn’t necessary. Then Lily gets a text that her results are in, and she rushes outside to check them, with Traci following to ask if everything is all right. Meanwhile, back inside, Sally nearly doubles over and feels like she might be going into labor. Something old, something borrowed, something blue, and now, apparently, something new, on its own schedule and in front of a pastry table.

Thursday Throws a Party and a Plot Twist

Between a rescue mission for a guest list, a roast that wounds on purpose, a phone buzzing in Victoria’s lap, and a text that could change Lily’s life, Thursday refuses to let anyone enjoy a canape in peace. And somewhere in the middle of all that cake drama, the bride may be on her way to a very different kind of delivery.
