The Days of Our Lives recap October 8, 2026 finds Marlena Evans spending her birthday at the hospital, waiting on news about Rachel Black and her surgery. Belle Black was sorry about the setting. Marlena said the only thing she cared about was Rachel.

Then Belle’s phone rang. Sydney DiMera had news: Dominic Marino is headed to Salem as soon as he is ready to make his move. Marlena took that as a message, and she was rattled. Part of her wanted to meet him and learn the truth. Part of her wanted to know nothing at all.

Days of Our Lives Recap: The Birth Certificate Comes Out

So she told Belle. Dominic’s birth certificate lists Marlena as his mother and Stefano DiMera as his father. Marlena said she and Stefano were never intimate, and that she hoped Dominic was not her son. Her own explanation, the only one she could come up with, was that it could have happened while she was in a coma.

Belle was horrified, and she realized she might have another sibling out there. She promised they would get DNA proof once Dominic shows up. Marlena, scared of what the truth might be, asked Belle to keep it between them for now.

Is Dominic Marino Really Marlena’s Son?

Nobody knows yet, and that is the whole point. The certificate says one thing, Marlena says she was never with Stefano, and no test has been run. Belle wants DNA, and Dominic is the one who has to show up to give it. If Marlena’s coma idea is right, Stefano did something unforgivable, and EJ is already asking whether Dominic is his brother. Days of Our Lives Recap: Chanel DiMera Rang the Bell

At the hospital, Chanel DiMera finished her final round of chemo. She told Johnny DiMera she was not sure if she felt sick from the treatment or from what he told her about EJ and DiMera Pharma. She hated what he had kept quiet for EJ, but she understood he was trying to protect his family. Her love has no conditions. Her forgiveness has one: never again.

Johnny admitted part of him hoped EJ would not be charged. Chanel was not having it, and called EJ a monster. Johnny said EJ is still his dad. He also made clear he had no plans to quit his job and wants to turn DiMera into something his family can be proud of. Chanel told him that sometimes the win is walking away.

Then the family came in, Chanel thanked everyone who got her through it, and she rang that bell loud enough for the whole floor to hear.

Earlier, Paulina Price and Lani Price got bad news. The governor would not grant Lani a pardon. Paulina was not ready to quit, and she sent along Lani’s podcast and the wave of online support behind it.

EJ DiMera Worked Out Who Talked

At the station, Jada Hunter questioned EJ DiMera about the contaminated Coriseal. She said George O’Halloran was being brought in too and laid out what the police had. EJ called it absurd and pointed at George. Then he figured out who had talked. It was his own son, Johnny.

Jada called Belle down to help with EJ, and Marlena talked her into going. EJ brushed Johnny off as confused. Belle let EJ go with a warning to leave Johnny alone, and said she expected to call him in again.

Leo Stark spent the day cuffed at the station, begging for his one phone call. Jada lectured him about breaking the law while chasing a story, then said she would have him released. Later he showed up for an appointment with Marlena that she forgot to cancel, birthday flowers in hand. He rambled about Javi Hernandez, who he stood up, then offered to just sit with her quietly. She said that would be nice.
