Billy Worries About Jill’s Absence

Billy Abbott had spent weeks dreading the scene Jill Abbott might cause at his wedding, which made it deeply inconvenient to catch himself wishing she would show up and cause it. His mother phoned him at Society, and by the time he hung up, Cane Ashby had wandered over to find a groom who looked like he had been handed a pop quiz. Jill, Billy explained, would be skipping the ceremony because her doctors wanted further testing.

He had braced for fireworks, not a health scare. Billy admitted he never wanted her around while tensions ran high, yet the news left him rattled anyway. Cane, who volunteers for detective work the way other men volunteer for appetizers, offered to quietly dig up details and told Billy to keep his eyes on his vows.

Lily Winters joined them and asked how the bachelor party went. The men gave her the highlights, including the false alarm that rushed Sally Spectra to the hospital, and Billy slipped out, leaving Lily pleased to see him so cheerful. Cheerful, as it turned out, had an expiration time of roughly four minutes.

At the café, Sally was working through dessert with the glow of a bride whose biggest concern was the seating chart. The two agreed that the wedding was right on schedule, and then Billy told her his mother would not be coming. Sally, who had talked him into the invitation to begin with, felt for him. Billy confessed he had been conflicted about Jill attending, but this ending did not sit right. Sally read between the lines and concluded that he simply loved his mother, which is the kind of diagnosis a groom hates hearing about himself.

Lily Finally Says It Aloud

Earlier, Lily sat across from Nate Hastings over coffee at Chancellor Park Café. His hand rehab came up first, and then Lily shared something heavier. Her last round of tests had come back unclear, so she faced more of them. She could not believe the shadow had returned. Cancer was meant to be history, and this round felt harsher than the first.

Nate told her to stay off the internet and advised her to confide in Cane. Lily admitted that terrified her. The two had found a steady rhythm, and she hated the thought of a frightening revelation knocking it off course. Nate stayed confident that she would be fine, promised to take over her Winters duties if she needed rest, and told her to keep the disease from calling the shots.

Later at Society, Cane read the room without being told. He saw that she was holding something in, offered to take her mind off her troubles, and she finally let the words out: her cancer might have returned. Cane held her and guessed the Chicago trip had been for testing. She confirmed it and added that the results were still inconclusive. He promised they would face this together and reminded her that the worst fears rarely come true.

Lily told him she no longer wanted any distance between them. Cane asked her to share every dark thought so he could help carry it. She thanked him and felt as though a weight had slid off her shoulders. He told her he loved her and kept repeating the word “together.”

Young and the Restless Spoilers (Y&R Spoilers) Phyllis Summers
Young and the Restless Recap (Y&R Recap) Phyllis Summers

Phyllis Springs Daniel on Danny

Phyllis Summers practically glowed at the GCAC while telling anyone within earshot that her son had agreed to work with her. Daniel Romalotti would serve as a co-CEO alongside Phyllis and Lauren Fenmore. Right on cue, Danny Romalotti, accompanied by his wife Christine Blair, walked in, found out about the plan by ambush, and turned to stone. Phyllis introduced her son like a star athlete signed in free agency, boasted about owning the club, and swore she and Daniel would send Arabesque soaring. Daniel looked like a man who had hoped to deliver this news with a gentler touch.

Lauren arrived looking like a woman who had survived a shipwreck and hauled Phyllis off for a private chat. Daniel assured his father that nobody had twisted his arm. Danny and Christine could see why the title appealed to him more than bartending, and Daniel explained that he was tired of pushing his mother away and hoped to keep her steady. Danny predicted that would never happen. Christine wondered aloud why he would put himself through it. Daniel wanted a fresh start and a chance to back his mom while she tried something legitimate for a change, and Danny said he was happy for him.

After Daniel left, Christine confessed that biting her tongue had been exhausting, and she feared a crash was coming for him. Meanwhile, Lauren vented to Phyllis about desperately needing off that cruise, and Phyllis shared her notion of swapping the company’s name for SFR. Lauren pointed out that the current name was well known, so Phyllis backed down. Lauren also urged her to drop the obsession with needling Victor, but Phyllis insisted she deserved her bragging rights. Humility has never been Phyllis’s best accessory.

Matt Clark Lets Himself In

Meanwhile out at the family ranch, Nick Newman got an earful from Victor Newman, who ordered him to phone Nikki Newman because she was fretting. Nick relayed his sit-down with Detective Burrows, predicting the missing dealer would turn up eventually. What nagged at him was Matt Clark. The two wondered if Patty Williams and Matt had double-crossed each other and were heading back to town.

Victor was sick of hearing the man’s name and wanted him gone. Both Newmans were grateful that Matt had arrived early enough to rescue Nick, yet neither bought the new-and-improved act, since it came courtesy of a knock on the head. Victor volunteered to handle everything, and Nick insisted he already had it under control. That made Victor worry harder, since his son sounded exactly like his mother. Nick swore he could face any threat. Neither man realized the threat was already doing recon.

At Crimson Lights, Matt hovered in the background and stared at Sharon Newman until she gathered her things. When she left, so did he. He followed her straight to her cottage, then lurked outside the window while she spoke by phone to Noah Newman and daughter Faith Newman. Matt slipped inside with ease and startled her. A man who once begged everyone for a second chance apparently skipped the part about knocking.
