Carly Bares Her Heart Tuesday, and Anna Comes Calling Wednesday

These General Hospital spoilers for Carly, Valentin and Anna read like a trap with a timer on it. On Monday, October 19, Carly Spencer gets the third degree from her brother, Lucas Jones. On Tuesday she puts her heart on the line with Valentin Cassadine, the same day Alexis Davis hands him shocking news. On Wednesday, Anna Devane seeks Valentin out.

So is Carly about to lose her man to Anna? If she does, she can’t blame Anna. Carly drew this triangle herself, one favor at a time, and she did it for her daughter.

How Carly Talked Anna and Valentin Into the Same Room

It started on Wednesday, October 7, when Carly asked Anna to mentor Josslyn Jacks. Anna said no. She admitted she had nearly killed Britt and no longer trusts her own instincts. Then she explained that her therapist, Dr. Nichols, wants her to bring in someone who knew her back when she was dealing with Faison. That someone is Valentin.

Anna didn’t want to drag him back in. She warned Carly it meant putting Valentin in therapy with a woman he once loved, and that his feelings for her once bordered on obsessive. Carly pushed anyway, insisting it would help him and make him happy. When Anna asked why she cared so much, Carly admitted that when she looks at Anna, she sees Josslyn’s future. Our October 7 recap caught every word of that warning.

Six days later, Carly made the same pitch to Valentin. She granted that Anna isn’t the right mentor for Josslyn right now. “But she could be,” she told him. “With your help.” He agreed to approach Anna but refused to push her, as our October 13 recap laid out.

Is Carly Losing Valentin to Anna on General Hospital?

Not yet, and no spoiler says she will. But the record points somewhere nobody else is looking: Anna has never been the one chasing Valentin. On September 16, Carly walked in on him comforting Anna, apologized and left. It was Anna who sent him after her, and Valentin told Carly not to get the wrong idea because he wants her. Wednesday is the first spoiler that has Anna moving toward him, and it comes right after Carly sold them both on the plan.

Carly Spencer isn’t being pushed out. She is doing the pushing, for Josslyn’s sake. Lucas has noticed: on September 28 he pressed his sister about her feelings for Valentin, and Monday he grills her again. In Friday’s preview, Carly tells him, “Given everything she’s been through, it’s the right thing to do.”

Viewers can’t settle it either. When Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson asked fans who’s best for Valentin, the comments split between Carly and Anna, with one fan calling Anna “his true North.”

Alexis Has Shocking News, and Nobody Knows What It Is

The other Tuesday bombshell belongs to Alexis, who is Valentin’s cousin, not his sister. She is Mikkos Cassadine’s daughter, and Valentin is the son of Mikkos’s brother, Victor. Whatever she tells him lands the same day Carly bares her soul.

None of these is confirmed, but here are the possibilities. The Cassadine fortune and Nikolas’s little boy, Ace, are the obvious guess. Wyndemere is another, given how badly Valentin has wanted that island back. Legal trouble is a third, with Jack Brennan’s disappearance back under investigation. My gut says it’s family business that drags Valentin into Cassadine chaos right when Carly Spencer needs his full attention.

Why Anna Seeking Out Valentin Could Cost Carly Everything

Spoilers don’t say why Anna seeks Valentin out on Wednesday, but the therapy request is the obvious reason. If that’s it, Carly Spencer gets exactly what she asked for, one day after she puts her heart on the line. Mark that order, because these writers love to punish a good deed.

Our take: Carly means well, and that is what makes this dangerous. Anna told her plainly what she was risking, and Carly said yes for all three of them. If Valentin walks out of that therapy room changed, the person who opened the door will be standing right behind him.
