Welcome Home, Matriarch! B&B’s Susan Flannery Opens Up About Returning To The Set That Made Her An Icon
Susan Flannery says returning to the B&B set felt like coming home, and Ian Buchanan and Alley Mills joined the big Forrester reunion.
SUSAN FLANNERY OPENS UP ABOUT RETURNING TO THE B&B SET
TL;DR: Susan Flannery, the original Stephanie Forrester on B&B, shared what her October 20 visit to the set meant to her in an interview with Soap Opera Digest, after we reported the visit yesterday. Ian Buchanan and Alley Mills were part of the reunion too.

Welcome Home, Stephanie Forrester
Susan Flannery wandered onto the B&B set yesterday and sent every Forrester fan straight to the tissues. Now the woman who ruled as Stephanie Forrester for 25 years has shared what the visit meant, and her answer is simple: it was lovely. She says it felt “like coming home in a way,” even though the show now tapes in a new studio after decades in its old one.
Standing among old friends and new faces pulled Susan Flannery right back into those years, and the memories came flooding in. Not bad for a woman who spent a quarter of a century running the Forrester empire with one raised eyebrow.
The welcome was a family affair. Katherine Kelly Lang, whose Brooke Logan held Stephanie in her arms when she passed, was there to greet her, and fans do not forget a goodbye like that. So was Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, whose Steffy Forrester happens to be Stephanie’s granddaughter. Jennifer Gareis, who plays Donna Logan, joined in too.

Ian Buchanan Steps Back In Time, And A Sister Returns
Ian Buchanan, a close friend of hers in real life, made the trip with her. The actor who spent 1993 to 1999 as James Warwick says the giant Forrester set made it feel as if the clock rolled backward, and that coming back to the people who have kept the show going for so long is something special, even when he doesn’t know them all.
Another familiar face stopped by, too. Alley Mills, Stephanie’s on-screen sister Pamela Douglas, is confirmed to be back on the canvas soon. Pam is walking in while Brooke and Katie Logan are in the middle of their own sibling war, and if anyone has opinions about sisters, it’s a Douglas.
Susan Flannery and Ian even posed with executive producer and head writer Brad Bell, and yes, we are zooming in on that photo for clues.
A Fitting Start To The Countdown
With B&B’s 40th anniversary arriving on March 23, 2027, a parade of originals walking the halls feels like a very good omen. Susan Flannery gave fans the best reason to rewatch Stephanie at her fiercest.
