DAYTIME COMINGS AND GOINGS BRING A HERO’S HOMECOMING, A LOOSE END, AND A SURPRISE CROSSOVER

TL;DR: This week’s Comings and Goings are loaded. Beyond the Gates may be gaining a familiar soap face while welcoming a new doctor into Fairmont Crest’s drama. Bold and the Beautiful brings back an old friend and stirs up some bartender chaos. Days of Our Lives lands a surprise crossover debut. General Hospital sees a hero finally come home while a dangerous face exits with the door left wide open. And Young and the Restless keeps the reunions coming, from a returning Abbott to a buzzy Instagram tease.

Beyond the Gates Comings & Goings Tease a Mystery Hire and Confirm a New Doctor

Fairmont Crest might be getting a familiar face. Colin Egglesfield posted on Instagram from what looked like a Beyond the Gates dressing room, teasing a new job he can’t discuss yet. Nothing’s confirmed, but several BTG cast members are already following him, which has fans connecting dots.

What is confirmed: Philip Boyd has joined the show as Dr. Miles Arnold, a recurring surgeon who first appeared at the end of Wednesday, June 17’s episode delivering hard news to Leslie Thomas and Ted Richardson: neither of them is a match to donate to Eva Thomas.

Bold and the Beautiful Comings & Goings Bring Back an Old Friend and Stir Up the Bar

Naomi Matsuda returns to Bold and the Beautiful as Li Finnegan during the week of July 13. Li was last seen confronting Poppy following Luna’s death, so her return likely means unfinished business.

Meanwhile, the Bikini Bar is getting some extra chaos. Christopher “Sincere” Cato pops in as supervisor and bartender Alex on Monday, July 13, and Tuesday, July 14. Sissy Sheridan resurfaces as Jessica, encouraging Dylan to make a move on Tuesday, July 14, with another appearance Friday, July 17.

Days of Our Lives Comings & Goings Welcome an Unexpected Crossover

After making his soap debut on General Hospital, Emmy-winning comedian John Oliver is crossing over to Days of Our Lives, where he’ll share scenes with Dan Feuerriegel’s EJ DiMera beginning in August. A late-night host wandering into Salem is exactly the kind of stunt casting daytime does best.

General Hospital Comings & Goings Welcome a Hero Home and Close a Door (Sort Of)

The biggest homecoming of the week belongs to Steve Burton, who finally resurfaces as Jason Morgan on Monday, July 13. Burton has been on hiatus for months, last airing in March when Jason was arrested and hauled off by the WSB.

Michael E. Knight also made his return as Martin Grey on Wednesday, July 8, giving Laura Collins some backup she didn’t know she needed.

On the exit side, Ryan Paevey has wrapped his run as Cassius, following the character’s declared death. But viewers quickly learned Liesl’s other son was offered a deal to secretly join the WSB, which means the door’s been left wide open for Paevey’s return down the line.

Young and the Restless Comings & Goings Keep the Reunions Rolling

Genoa City has a newcomer on the way: Jade Harlow is heading to Young and the Restless in the recurring role of Marie Kirkland, a woman with a complicated past looking for a fresh start, debuting Monday, August 10.

Eileen Davidson’s Ashley Abbott returned to Genoa City on Friday, July 10. And Tricia Cast reunited with Lauralee Bell and Beth Maitland at the CBS studio, sparking fresh buzz about another Nina Webster return.
