Fairmont Crest Suits Up In School Colors

Pep rally season has officially hit Fairmont Crest. Beyond the Gates celebrates Banneker University’s Homecoming with a pair of episodes on October 2 and October 5, and the whole neighborhood is turning up in crimson and gold for the occasion.

The festivities start with a tailgate at the Dupree home, where the neighbors gather before piling onto a bus bound for the game. Then comes the part fans should prep their vocal cords for: the whole crew breaks into Banneker’s fight song, “Fight On,” on the ride over.

Five Generations Deep In Banneker Pride

For the Duprees, this is about far more than a good party. The family has sent five generations to Banneker, which makes Homecoming a legacy event before it’s a celebration.

The storyline doubles as a love letter to HBCU homecoming culture, with Banneker standing in as the show’s own campus, and CBS has already shared promo photos to get viewers in the spirit. Beyond the Gates also frames the two episodes as a celebration of African American heritage.

Homecoming, But Make It Dangerous

Leave it to Beyond the Gates to gather every resident under one roof, because the soap fan in us knows what’s simmering. Hayley was arrested in Bill’s poisoning case, bailed out by an unlikely friend, and is now locked out of the gates while bragging that she has dirt on Bill and the Duprees.

Add a still-unmasked Impaler, a recovering Bill who has agreed to drop the charges, and Nicole realizing the Impaler’s profile fits someone she knows, and that festive bus starts looking like a very crowded stage. Will the school spirit hold, or does somebody crash the party? And who else is riding along with a secret?
