VERNON’S HIDING SOMETHING FROM ANITA—AND LESLIE’S CELEBRATING HER LATEST SABOTAGE

TL;DR: BTG spoilers for Monday, October 20 reveal Vernon Dupree is keeping secrets from his wife Anita, which is NEVER a good idea when you’re married to a woman who doesn’t tolerate lies. Meanwhile, Leslie Thomas is riding high after successfully sabotaging Ted and Nichole‘s reunion with that fire alarm stunt, completely unaware that her schemes are about to catch up with her. It’s going to be a MESSY Monday in Fairmont Cres.!

Vernon’s Playing a Dangerous Game

BTG spoilers tease Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) is keeping secrets from Anita (Tamara Tunie), and anyone who knows Anita knows this is an EXTREMELY bad idea. This woman is the matriarch of the Dupree family, a former famous singer who worked hard to succeed, and she does NOT play when it comes to being lied to by her retired Senator husband!

What’s Vernon hiding? The possibilities are ENDLESS and all of them are bad! Is it money problems? Did Vernonmake a bad investment? Is the Dupree family fortune in jeopardy? That would certainly explain why he’s keeping it from Anita—she’d lose her MIND if their financial security was threatened!

Or is it something more personal? An affair? A health crisis he’s hiding? Some political scandal from his Senate days coming back to haunt him? Vernon is described as “gentle, humble and generous,” so whatever he’s keeping from Anita is probably something he thinks he’s protecting her from. But Anita‘s going to see it as a BETRAYAL when she inevitably finds out!

Could this be connected to Bill Hamilton‘s investigation of Andre Richardson? Bill hired a PI to dig up dirt on Andre, who’s married to Vernon and Anita‘s daughter Dani. What if Vernon knows something about Andre that he hasn’t told Anita? What if he’s been keeping secrets to protect Dani from the truth about her husband?

Whatever Vernon‘s hiding, it’s going to come out eventually. And when Anita discovers her husband has been lying to her, there’s going to be HELL to pay in Fairmont Cres.!

Leslie’s Victory Lap

Meanwhile, Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) is riding high, and honestly? She’s EARNED her moment of triumph! The woman successfully sabotaged Ted and Nichole‘s reunion by pulling the hotel’s fire alarm RIGHT as Nichole was about to fall into Ted‘s arms! That’s some next-level scheming right there!

Leslie is feeling herself right now. She’s probably thinking she’s WON. Ted Richardson (Keith D. Robinson) is single, Nichole Dupree Richardson (Daphnée Duplaix) is heartbroken and confused, and Leslie gets to swoop in and comfort Ted while he’s vulnerable. In Leslie‘s mind, this is PERFECT!

But here’s what Leslie doesn’t realize: her schemes are about to blow up in her face SPECTACULARLY. BTG spoilers tease you can’t keep sabotaging people’s relationships and expect to get away with it forever! Eventually someone’s going to figure out what she’s been doing, and when they do, Leslie‘s going to lose EVERYTHING!

Leslie‘s daughter Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michelle) is already getting suspicious of her mama’s behavior. What if Evafigures out what Leslie‘s been doing? What if she tells Ted or Nichole the truth about Leslie‘s manipulations? Leslie‘s riding high now, but the fall’s going to be BRUTAL!

And let’s not forget—Ted told Nichole he’d wait as long as it takes for her to realize they belong together. The man is NOT giving up on his marriage! So even if Leslie thinks she’s won, BTG spoilers assure Ted‘s heart still belongs to Nichole. Leslie‘s victory is temporary at BEST!
