According to Sheknows, Vaughan had no idea what role he’d be stepping into when Val Jean made her move. “She said, ‘I’m gonna grab your wrist right now and twist it behind your back until you say yes,'” Vaughan laughed during an exclusive interview. When he asked what part he’d be playing, she refused to give him details until he agreed. The only crumb she offered? He’d be playing a doctor. That’s IT. The man said yes to a job without knowing what the job actually was, and honestly? That’s the kind of trust we love to see.

Dr. Kail Rollins is a traveling orthopedic surgeon joining the staff at Garland Memorial, and viewers got their first tease of the character at the end of the Thursday, December 4 episode. We didn’t actually SEE the handsome new doctor yet, but that’s about to change in a big way.
Here’s where it gets interesting — early reports suggested Dr. Rollins might be a bit of a player, but Vaughan is setting the record straight. “He’s more introverted,” the Days of Our Lives alum revealed, explaining that the doc is “kind of like a sponge in this new environment.” As a professional, Dr. Rollins isn’t necessarily looking for romance when he arrives at Garland Memorial.
But that might change once he meets Nicole! Shanice is playing matchmaker and setting up her co-worker Nicole, played by Daphne Duplaix, with the new surgeon.
