TL;DR: If you enjoyed Jordi Vilasuso playing Rey Rosales on Young and the Restless and were bummed when he was killed off, set your DVRs now for season two of Beyond the Gates on CBS. Jordi is damn fine and will have all kinds of potential in and out of Fairmont Crest!
Jordi Vilasuso, Ex-Y&R, Bounces Over to Beyond the Gates on CBS
The late Rey Rosales, portrayed by Jordi Vilasuso on Young and the Restless, was damn fine, but also damn boring. He SO has an opportunity to spice things up on Beyond the Gates. That is, if they don’t limit him only to Nurse Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacobs), otherwise known as Nurse Vanilla Bean.
Seriously, if Jordi is rebooting on CBS to be put in another boring relationship, as he was in on Y&R with Sharon Case (Sharon Newman), it will be a waste.
On the other hand, Nurse Ashley is as boring as the day is long. Then the powers that be on CBS may as well reincarnate Jordi as Rey. Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges) could use a nice man on his side at the DMV PD.

CBS Reboots Detective Rey Rosales on BTG, It Could Happen
It could happen if they want Jordi Vilasuso to follow up his boring role on Young and the Restless with another boring role on Beyond the Gates. Across social media, soap opera fans are already cringing at Jordi kissing Jen as Nurse Ashley at Uptown on Beyond the Gates. Nurse Vanilla Bean is boring, and Jacob Hawthorne needs someone he can count on at the police department. Detective Rey Rosales could have totally “really gone into hiding” as others have done on CBS soap operas.
On the flip flop, if Jordi Vilasuso can be allowed to play a hot new man on BTG who fans do not want to fast-forward through, let’s make this happen. Beyond the Gates fans can tolerate one boring kiss between these two at Uptown to get to the good stuff.
