Naomi Hawthorne Should Sit This One Out
Here is where the hypocrisy really lands. Naomi Hawthorne apparently knows that Hayley faked a pregnancy and a miscarriage, and has known for a while, and has said absolutely nothing about it. This is the same woman marrying into a mess that started when Hayley got involved with Bill Hamilton, her own father, and blew up her parents’ marriage in the process.
If anyone in Fairmont Crest has a reason to expose Hayley, it is Naomi, and instead she is sitting on that secret while lecturing her mother about being more open regarding a completely different situation.
You do not get to demand transparency from your own family while protecting the biggest lie in the entire community. Naomi wants everyone else to process things her way, on her timeline, with the information she thinks they need, and meanwhile she is withholding something that could change everything for people who deserve to know the truth. That is not someone processing grief responsibly, that is someone picking and choosing which secrets matter based on how it affects her personally, and calling the double standard something else entirely.
A law degree does not automatically make someone honest, and right now Naomi’s actions are speaking a lot louder than the lecture she gave her mother.

Our Take: Naomi Needs to Check Herself
Naomi has every right to process a BRCA diagnosis on her own terms, and nobody should fault her for needing time before she was ready to talk about it. But once she chose to speak up, she chose to hold everyone else to a standard she has not been meeting herself, and that inconsistency is exactly what fans are picking up on right now.
Her mother deserves patience, not a lecture, and the people being lied to about Hayley deserve the truth Naomi has been sitting on this entire time. Being right about genetics does not excuse being wrong about honesty, and Naomi is going to have to reckon with that eventually, whether she is ready for it or not.
