Turtleneck Ted’s turtlenecks, along with any affinity Beyond the Gates fans had for him, have gone out the window since the first recast on this new CBS soap opera. BTG fans LOVED Maurice Johnson portraying Ted Richardson, but have tried to give Keith Robinson a chance. 

So, who’s to blame for Ted Richardson’s demise, the actor or the writers?

Maurice Johnson & Daphnee Duplaix portraying Ted Richardson & Nicole Richardson on Beyond the Gates could not have had more chemistry. They were Mr. & Mrs. Perfect in Fairmont Crest & beyond. This all until it was revealed that more than two decades ago, Ted cheated on Nicole with Leslie/Dana/Sherry Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) & Ted was recast on BTG.

Maurice Johnson portrayed the husband that almost every woman dreams of. He & Nicole were so romantic & charismatic. They were in love & would do anything for one another. There was no way that this version of Ted Richardson would cheat on Nicole or keep a secret, like their son Martin Richardson’s (Brandon Claybon) deadly secret & its details.

Too bad Ted Richardson version 2.0 by Keith Robinson makes all of Theodore’s lies believable on Beyond the Gates…

Just as sad as seeing Maurice Johnson being dismissed as Ted Richardson on Beyond the Gates are all of Theodore’s lies. Yes, Ted Richardson is now getting “first-named” by his wife-for-now, Nicole, & his mother-in-law-for-now, Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie), since it’s been revealed that he cheated on Nicole & produced another person with Looney-Leslie. 

If the shoe fits… Keith Robinson portraying Theadore-the-liar-Richardson is totally believable to Beyond the Gates fans & said fans are totally ready for Nicole to call it a day on their marriage & to move onward & upward.

Maurice Johnson vs Keith Robinson & Ambyr Michelle

It seems Ambyr Michelle, portraying Leslie Thomas’s daughter Eva Thomas, has chemistry with Ted either way. She’s believable as his daughter regardless of who portrays him, but she still might lose him. Eva knows damn well what he mother, Leslie, did to Nicole’s assistant, Laura Peterson (Destiny Love), & she’s holding back. 

Right now, in Ted’s eyes, Eva can do no wrong. Ted continues to defend Eva to his daughter with Nicole, Kat Richardson (Colby Muhammad), no matter what. What happens when Ted finds out that Eva has been going after Kat’s love interest, Tomas Navarro (Alex Alegria)? What happens when Ted finds out that Eva has known for too long what Leslie did to Laura?

Is there hope for Ted Richardson, portrayed by Keith Robinson, to be let into Beyond the Gates fan’s hearts?
