This “Agreement” Has Lexie Written All Over It

There are deals, and then there are deals that rewrite the entire landscape of a family. Abe Carver and EJ DiMera discussing an “agreement” during this Thursday’s episode of Days of Our Lives is not two men shaking hands over a business arrangement. This is two men who share a connection to the same woman negotiating the terms of a miracle.

EJ has been running a secret resurrection lab with Dr. Wilhelm Rolf for months. The cryogenic tube. The Versavix drug. The dead lab rats that squeaked back to life. Every breadcrumb has been leading to one person: Lexie Carver, EJ’s beloved sister and Abe’s former wife, who died of an inoperable brain tumor in 2012. Spoilers indicate EJ is about to show Paulina Price the contents of that tube, and the look on her face said everything. Now EJ and Abe Carver are putting some kind of arrangement in place, and the implications are staggering.

EJ DiMera loved Lexie in a way he’s never loved any of his other siblings (although she’s technically his half-sibling, the two referred to one another as brother and sister). She was the one DiMera who made him want to be better. When Theo was injured in the crypt, EJ apologized to the person in the tube, almost certainly his sister, for failing to protect her son. Bringing Lexie back isn’t about power or manipulation for EJ. It’s personal. It might be the only genuinely selfless thing he’s ever done.

Paulina Supports Theo — Because She Knows What’s Coming

The spoiler that has us clutching our stress balls is this: on the same Thursday that Abe and EJ discuss their deal, Paulina is supporting an emotional Theo Carver. That is not a coincidence. That is a woman bracing for impact. Paulina undoubtedly knows Lexie is in that tube. And now she’s comforting the son who is about to learn his dead mother might walk back into his life.

Theo has already lost so much. He woke up from his crypt injuries only to learn his grandfather Stefano’s bones were confirmed as genuine. He went on a date with Jada but couldn’t stop thinking about Gabi. And upcoming spoilers say he’s about to lose Jada to a reconnection with Shawn Brady. Now imagine telling that man his mother is alive in a lab underneath the DiMera mansion. The 2026 preview promised Theo’s life would be “turned upside down,” and this is exactly what they meant.

Abe Carver has been praying for Lexie’s guidance all year, mentioning her name to Theo, talking about what she would have wanted. He had no idea those prayers were about to be answered in the most literal and terrifying way possible. A dead wife resurrected by mad science is not the miracle most people have in mind when they light a candle at church.

The Deal That Could Destroy Paulina

Here’s the dark underbelly of this agreement. EJ DiMera does nothing without calculation. He’s wearing the Phoenix ring now. He’s positioning himself as the new family patriarch. And he despises Paulina for encouraging Johnny to distance himself from the DiMera family. Bringing Lexie back accomplishes two things for EJ: he gets his sister, and he potentially destroys Paulina’s marriage.

Because let’s be honest about what happens when Abe Carver’s dead wife walks out of a cryogenic tube looking like she did thirteen years ago. Abe loved Lexie with everything he had. They were Salem’s great love story before tragedy ripped them apart. Paulina is a force of nature, but she’s not competing with a ghost. She’s competing with a resurrection.

Whatever Abe and EJ agreed to on Days of Our Lives, it almost certainly involves conditions for Lexie’s return. Maybe EJ demanded something in exchange. Maybe Abe Carver set boundaries about how and when Theo finds out. Maybe Paulina negotiated her own terms to protect what’s left of her marriage. But no agreement on earth can prepare any of them for the moment Lexie opens her eyes and the real chaos begins.
