Alex Kiriakis puts his foot down with Xander Cook on Days of Our Lives Wednesday over a book conflict involving fiancée Stephanie Johnson.
ALEX KIRIAKIS IS PROTECTING HIS FIANCÉE AND XANDER COOK IS ABOUT TO LEARN THAT FAMILY LOYALTY HAS LIMITS
TL;DR: Days of Our Lives spoilers for Wednesday, January 7 reveal Alex Kiriakis puts his foot down with Xander Cook over a publishing conflict involving Stephanie Johnson’s book. Alex is defending his fiancée against Xander’s business decisions at Titan Industries!
Alex Kiriakis Is Defending Stephanie Johnson Against Xander Cook
Well, soap fans, Wednesday’s Days of Our Lives is about to get MESSY when Alex Kiriakis puts his foot down with Xander Cook. And it’s probably over the book publishing conflict regarding Bonnie Lockhart and Kate Roberts. And this isn’t just about business—this is about Alex protecting his fiancée Stephanie Johnson from Xander’s questionable decisions at Titan Industries.
Here’s what’s happening: Stephanie wrote a book entitled “One Stormy Night”, while using the pen name Anastasia Sands. Meanwhile, Bonnie Lockhart has written a new manuscript called “One Rainy Afternoon.” The problem? These two books have lots in common beyond similar titles, familiar characters from Salem and smarmy, think “Fifty Shades of Grey” content. Titan Industries is caught in the middle. Just where they want to be.
Alex is putting his foot down with Xander on Wednesday, and based on the context clues, it looks like Alex is telling Xander that Titan CANNOT publish Bonnie’s book because it conflicts with Stephanie’s work. And Xander—who has been working with Kate Roberts to use Bonnie’s book to help save Titan financially—is NOT going to be happy about this.

The Alexander Sands Secret Identity Changes Everything
What makes this situation even MORE complicated is that Stephanie Johnson writes under a pseudonym—Anastasia Sands. She was recently exposed as using the name but she’s careful about keeping things on the down low, especially because she’s been stalked as of late. That situation is blowing up, too, so buckle up!
Now that Alex and Stephanie are engaged, it seems he’s asserting some self-perceived manly privilege, which will lead to further fall-outs later this week when Stephanie fights back. Plus, Xander Cook is not exactly known for playing fair when he feels cornered. If Alex backs him into a corner over this publishing dispute, Xander might lash out in ways that could hurt both Alex AND Stephanie.
Kate Roberts Delivers Bad News to Bonnie Lockhart
The Wednesday Days of Our Lives spoilers also reveal that Kate Roberts gives Bonnie Lockhart bad news. This is almost certainly related to the book conflict with Stephanie’s work.
Kate and Xander have been desperately trying to use Bonnie’s books to save Titan Industries from financial disaster. They’ve been banking on Bonnie’s romance novels generating enough revenue to rescue the company. It’s been an absurd plan from the start, but they’ve been committed to making it work.
Poor Bonnie. The woman finally writes another manuscript, and it gets killed because it contradicts someone else’s work. Or shouldn’t we feel sorry for her at all? Did she know about it all along?
Xander Cook Is Not Going to Take This Well
Here’s the thing about Xander: the man does NOT handle being told “no” with any kind of grace or maturity. He’s already on edge about his failed marriage to Sarah Horton, he knows his former wife, Sarah, is LIVING under the same roof as Brady. Add to that his struggles at Titan CEO, and the company’s ongoing financial crisis? Good times aren’t delivering anything good in HIS world! Which probably explains why he’s going to fire Brady later this week!
This confrontation could destroy whatever fragile working relationship Alex and Xander have managed to maintain. It could turn relatives into enemies and create a civil war within the Kiriakis family at the worst possible time.
But Alex doesn’t have much choice. He’s engaged to Stephanie. He loves her. He’s building a life with her. He can’t let Xander publish a book that contradicts and potentially undermines her work. But shouldn’t she be speaking up for HERSELF? It may just be time for Alex to park his freshly painted white steed in the pasture.
Wednesday’s Days of Our Lives is going to force Alex to draw a line in the sand, and Xander is going to have to accept that not everyone at Titan will fall in line behind his decisions anymore. Alex is putting his fiancée first, and Xander better get used to it.
