Cat Greene looks conflicted on Days of Our Lives

THE SPY WHO CAN’T DESTROY EJ DIMERA

TL;DR: Cat Greene was sent to take down EJ DiMera. After the Italian clinic memories and one very real kiss, she can barely make herself go through with it. And with Dr. Rolf on the run, EJ has never been easier to sink.

A Mission That Made Sense Until It Didn’t

On Days of Our Lives, Cat and EJ began as hunter and prey, and somewhere along the way the roles quietly swapped. Cat Greene took the assignment because it looked easy: get close to EJ DiMera, gather what the ISA needed, and bring the DiMera patriarch down for good. Easy held up right until she remembered an Italian clinic, a hand squeezing hers, and a man who was gentler with her than anyone in Salem has ever bothered to be.

Here is what makes it so good. Cat is excellent at this work. She got herself hired as EJ’s hospital assistant, she has watched him lie and maneuver up close, and she has handed Rafe Hernandez more than enough to know exactly how dirty her target is. Finishing the job should be simple. Instead she keeps circling back to the version of EJ that no one else is allowed to see, and every soft moment shaves a little more off her nerve.

The memories are the real trouble. Under hypnosis with Marlena Evans, Cat surfaced an image of herself reading aloud to a bandaged, broken EJ in that clinic overseas, feeling his fingers curl around hers. It rearranged everything she thought she knew. For the fuller picture of how tangled his web has become, the latest Salem intel spells out just how many people EJ has hurt. Cat never planned to feel anything for the man she was sent to destroy, and yet here she is.

Dr. Rolf Ran, and the Timing Could Not Be Worse for EJ

Then the ground gave way beneath EJ DiMera. Dr. Rolf, the one man who could tie the illegal drug and the secret revival straight to him, has bolted from Salem with the FBI closing in, leaving behind nothing but a note. The quiet case Cat has been assembling against EJ DiMera just got dramatically easier to close. One credible witness in the wind, one cover-up hanging by a single thread, and one agent sitting in the perfect spot to bring the whole thing down.

That is the cruel joke of the timing. The moment EJ is at his most sinkable is the exact moment Cat least wants to push him under. Every instinct she was trained on says close the trap now. Everything she has felt since that clinic says wait, look again, maybe he is not only the monster the file makes him out to be.

Are Cat and EJ Falling for Each Other on Days of Our Lives?

Officially, no: Cat is undercover, EJ still believes she is nothing more than his loyal assistant, and the two have shared little beyond one charged kiss and a lot of loaded silence. Here is the angle nobody else is drawing a line to, though. With Rolf gone and the drug scandal ready to blow wide open, Cat’s wavering resolve is suddenly the single most important thing in Salem. If she moves, EJ falls, and if she freezes, he slips the noose again. An entire empire now hangs on how one conflicted woman lets herself feel.

Chad, an Old Flame, and the Choice Coming for Cat

Do not forget Chad DiMera, the old flame Cat once fell for hard, now settled and happy with Belle. His presence is a standing reminder that Cat’s truest self wants the kind of connection EJ is dangling and Chad already let slip away. Reading between the lines, the writers are building toward a genuinely brutal choice. Cat can hand the ISA the head of EJ DiMera and get justice for everyone he has steamrolled, from a poisoned Holly to a dying Lexie Carver he revived like a science project. Or she can shield the one person who ever made her feel safe, and do not be surprised if she reaches for both and blows up her own cover in the attempt.

We want the messy opinions on this one. Head down to the comments and tell us where you land before Cat picks a lane.

Cat Holds All the Cards, and That Terrifies Us

Let us be honest about who actually has the power in this story. For once it is not the man with the Phoenix ring or the doctor with the syringe. It is the quiet woman deciding whether her heart or her orders come out on top. That is a fabulous place to hang a storyline, and these writers know it.

So go ahead and pick a side, because we genuinely cannot. Team Finish the Job says Cat owes the truth to every soul EJ has flattened and should burn him down while the chance is right in front of her. Team He Is Not All Bad says the wounded man in those clinic memories has earned the one shot at redemption only Cat can see. Come argue it out with us over on our Facebook page, where the jury is very much still out.
