Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Will Chad Exit Salem with Dead Wife’s Impersonator or Search for Abigail?

Hold onto your tissues, DOOL fans, because we need to talk about the ELEPHANT in the room. Billy Flynn is leaving for Y&R (yes, you read that right!), and Chad DiMera’s exit is barreling toward us like a freight train. But here’s where things get MESSY…

Three exit options. THREE! And not a single one is making fans happy.

Let me break this down for you because my inbox has been FLOODED with messages about this storyline, and honestly? I’m just as torn as you are!

Option 1: Chad Leaves with Cat

The woman who LITERALLY pretended to be his dead wife.

I can’t. I just CAN’T with this one, folks! Remember when Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) showed up in Salem wearing Abigail’s face like some kind of twisted Halloween costume? She MARRIED Chad while pretending to be Abby! And now they’re going on cute little dates? Jennifer Horton caught them the other day and the look on her face said EVERYTHING.

One fan tweeted me yesterday: “If Chad leaves Salem holding hands with Fake Abby, I’m canceling my Peacock subscription!” And honestly? I felt that in my SOUL.

Option 2: Chad Goes Searching for Abigail

Now THIS is what the Chabby fanbase is SCREAMING for! No body was ever found, people. In soap opera land, that’s basically a neon sign saying “CHARACTER WILL RETURN!”

You know what kills me? Chad hasn’t even MENTIONED looking for Abby’s remains. Not once! It’s like the writers forgot that this man was desperately in love with his wife. The same wife who “died” under mysterious circumstances with zero physical evidence.

Makes sense, right? (That’s sarcasm, in case you missed it.)

Option 3: Chad Takes the Kids and Starts Fresh

Thomas and Charlotte deserve better than this chaos, I’ll give you that. But this exit feels so… bland? So un-Chad-like? After everything this character has been through, he just packs up the minivan and drives off into the sunset?

Boring. Next!

The Fan Campaign That’s Shaking Salem

Y’all, the Chabby fanbase is NOT playing around. They’ve been trending #BringBackAbby for WEEKS. Some dedicated soul even started a petition that has over 10,000 signatures! The message is crystal clear: if you’re writing Chad off, you better bring Abigail back first.

And can we talk about Stephanie’s warning to Cat? “Chad will NEVER move on from Abigail.”

That wasn’t just dialogue, people. That was FORESHADOWING with a capital F! When Stephanie Johnson drops truth bombs like that, you better believe the writers are setting something up.

Social Media Is Having a MELTDOWN

I spent three hours scrolling through #DOOL Twitter last night (don’t judge me), and the takes are WILD:

“Billy Flynn deserves better than having Chad exit with his wife’s impersonator!”

“If they don’t bring Marci Miller back as Abby before Chad leaves, we RIOT!”

“Am I the only one who thinks Cat actually loves Chad now? 👀”

That last one had 500 quote tweets dragging them for filth. The Chabby loyalty runs DEEP, folks!

Behind the Scenes Drama?

Here’s where it gets interesting…

A little birdie told me that the original exit storyline was COMPLETELY different. Apparently, test audiences had such a negative reaction to one version (I’m guessing Chad/Cat sailing off together?) that they went back to the drawing board. The writers are allegedly filming multiple endings to gauge fan reaction.

Smart move? Or desperation? You decide!

My Take (Because You Know I Have Opinions)

Look. I’ve been watching this show since the Marlena possession days. I’ve seen characters come back from the dead more times than I can count. I’ve watched amnesia plots, evil twins, baby switches—the WORKS.

But this? This hits different.

Chad and Abigail were EVERYTHING. Their love story survived EJ, survived Stefan, survived literally every obstacle Salem threw at them. And now we’re supposed to accept him moving on with the woman who cosplayed as his dead wife for Clyde Weston?

Make it make sense!

Jennifer’s reaction is all of us. That mama bear KNOWS something we don’t. Mark my words—Abigail is alive somewhere, and she’s coming back. The question is: will it be in time to stop Chad from making the biggest mistake of his life?

What Happens Next?

Three scenarios. Zero good options. One departing actor who deserves the exit storyline of a LIFETIME.

If I’m being honest (and when am I not?), I think the writers are backed into a corner here. The Chabby fanbase is too strong, too vocal, too PASSIONATE to ignore. They want their supercouple reunited, even if it means recasting Abigail.

Will they listen? Will they give us the Chad/Abby reunion we DESERVE before Billy Flynn walks out that door?

Or will they really let Chad DiMera—grieving widower, devoted father, one half of Salem’s most epic love story—leave town with the woman who faked being his soulmate?

Time’s running out, DAYS. The fans have spoken. The question is: are you listening?

What do YOU think should happen? Team “Chad searches for Abby”? Team “Just take the kids and go”? Or are you one of the brave souls actually shipping Chad and Cat?

Let me know in the comments—but keep it civil, people! This storyline has us all in our feelings, but we’re still a soap family at the end of the day.

Until next time, keep those tissues handy. Something tells me we’re going to need them.

P.S. – If anyone from the DAYS writing room is reading this… BRING. BACK. ABBY. That’s all.
