Hold onto your hats, DAYS fans! Our favorite troublemaker is about to blow back into Salem like a Category 5 hurricane. That’s right, folks – Alison Sweeney is reprising her role as the one and only Sami Brady on Days of Our Lives. Can I get a “hallelujah”?

The Long Wait for Fans

Now, before you start planning your Sami Brady viewing parties (and trust me, I’ve already got mine in the works), I’ve got some news that might put a tiny damper on your excitement. We’re not going to see Sami light up our screens until sometime in 2025. I know, I know – it feels like an eternity! But hey, good things come to those who wait, right?

Word on the street (okay, it was actually TV Insider, but “word on the street” sounds so much more dramatic) is that Sweeney is already on set, stirring up trouble – I mean, filming scenes. Given DAYS’ filming schedule, which is more complicated than one of Sami’s schemes, we’ve got a bit of a wait ahead of us.

Sweeney herself spilled some tea about her return, and let me tell you, it’s piping hot. She said, “I was thrilled to be invited to return. I love playing Sami and I am always happy for the chance to come back.” Aww, she loves Sami as much as we do!

Speaking of 1993, Sweeney got all nostalgic on us, saying, “It does feel like a time capsule in some ways. The dressing rooms, the photos in the hallway, the make-up room is essentially the same as when I started in 1993.” It’s like a soap opera version of “Back to the Future,” and I am living for it!

Now, here’s where it gets really juicy. When asked about the how and why of Sami’s return, Sweeney teased, “I was interested to hear how and why they were bringing Sami back to town. Or – my personal favorite – a deliciously wicked revenge plot? The possibilities are endless, and I’m here for all of them!

But here’s the million-dollar question, DAYS fans: What do YOU want to see Sami do this time around? Should she come back to reclaim EJ? Meddle in her kids’ lives (because let’s face it, that’s kind of her specialty)? Or maybe she’ll shock us all and actually behave herself for once? …Nah, where’s the fun in that?
