The latest Days of Our Lives spoilers for Wednesday, October 7, 2026 have EJ DiMera confronting Rita Lesley about Dominic Marino. Five days earlier, EJ told Rita she was one of the only people left he could trust. On Wednesday, he wants to know what she really knows about Dominic.

That trust was about all EJ had left. Cat Greene quit working for him in September. Theo Carver walked away from DiMera. And on Friday, October 2, his own son, Johnny DiMera, sat down with Rafe Hernandez of the FBI and told him what he knows about the family company. One by one, the people around EJ are peeling away.

Rita’s Loyalty Comes With Fine Print

Rita has been keeping secrets from EJ DiMera since early September. She pocketed Stefano’s ring off EJ’s coffee table, then told him she couldn’t find it. On September 18, she promised EJ her unflinching loyalty and support, then stood in front of Stefano DiMera‘s portrait and said, “It’s playing out as you planned, Sir.”

Then came Friday. EJ asked Rita whether he could still trust her, and she told him her loyalty to the DiMera family was complete. Read that one twice. The family, not EJ.

The same day, Marlena Evans cornered Rita, told her that her fingerprints had turned up on the Verdi program, and demanded to know whether Dominic was Marlena’s son with Stefano. EJ walked in just in time to hear it. Rita claimed to know nothing, and that is the answer EJ goes back to pick apart on Wednesday.

Is Rita Lesley Betraying EJ on Days of Our Lives?

She is keeping Stefano’s secrets from him, and that much has played out on screen. Whether she wants EJ ruined is a different question, and the show has not answered it. The fan chatter has Rita quietly steering EJ toward a fall, telling him what he wants to hear while Stefano’s plan runs underneath him.

Here is the wrinkle that complicates the sabotage talk. Rita has also worked hard for EJ. On September 23, George O’Halloran told EJ that he and Rita were already setting up Sarah Horton, so DiMera would come out in the clear. A woman out to sink EJ does not usually work this hard to protect his company. My gut says Rita serves the DiMera name and Stefano’s plan first, and EJ only when he happens to stand in the right spot.

Johnny’s Confession Is Already in Rafe’s Hands

EJ DiMera has a bigger problem than Rita, and he does not know it yet. On Friday, Johnny told Rafe, his former stepfather, that the FDA complaints against DiMera Pharma were legitimate, that EJ knew about Coriseal and that George coached him to deny and deflect. Johnny said Chanel DiMera and the children made him want to be a better man. Rafe told him he was proud of him and warned him there could be legal consequences.

Chanel supports Johnny through his difficult decision on Monday, and on Thursday she asks him for a promise. Meanwhile, EJ can’t figure out why his son has stopped speaking to him. On Friday, Johnny brings Steve Johnson troubling news.

Some of the chatter already has Johnny and Chanel leaving Salem altogether, maybe even under witness protection. Nothing on screen points there yet. But if what Johnny handed Rafe is as big as it sounds, don’t be surprised if a fresh start far away from EJ DiMera stops sounding like idle talk.

Sarah and Tate Black threaten Joy Wesley‘s plans. Jada Hunter and Shawn Brady share some romance, and Leo Stark‘s good day takes an unexpected turn.

Brady Black is forced to make a difficult call. If I know these writers, that call has something to do with his daughter, Rachel, who gives Brady cause for concern one day earlier. And on Thursday, Jada questions EJ, so his week only gets more crowded.
