Days of Our Lives spoilers: Xander Kiriakis and Philip need the mansion to fail Tuesday’s inspection, or Dominic Marino’s sale goes through.
DAYS OF OUR LIVES SPOILERS OCTOBER 13, 2026: XANDER KIRIAKIS AND PHILIP ARE ROOTING FOR THEIR OWN HOUSE TO FLUNK
TL;DR: Days of Our Lives spoilers for Tuesday, October 13, 2026 put Xander Kiriakis and Philip in the Kiriakis mansion with Hank the home inspector, and the family needs him to hate what he sees. A bad report could send buyer Dominic Marino running. A clean one, or a buyer who does not care, sends the sale through.
Why Xander Kiriakis Wants the Inspector to Find the Rats
Every Days of Our Lives spoilers preview for Tuesday, October 13 says the same thing: Xander and Philip Kiriakis make a last appeal to save the family home. Here is the part the chatter keeps getting backwards. The Kiriakis clan does not need the mansion to pass Tuesday’s inspection. They need it to fail.
Rewind one week. On October 6, Maggie Kiriakis pitched a plan at the Pub to make the house look like a money pit so the buyer, Dominic Marino, backs out before the sale is final. Kate Roberts said it plainly: a bad inspection, and Dominic might walk. Then seven people went to work.
Philip planted asbestos in the attic in a plastic suit, and Xander rigged the laundry room pipes and got soaked for his trouble. Sarah Horton painted fake black mold in the basement. Roman Brady faked the wiring, Brady Black walked in with a cage of rats, and Maggie kept the checklist so they could undo it all later. Our daily recaps have every soggy minute.

The Sale Is Signed, in Escrow and One Form Away From Final
The sale itself has looked like a done deal since September. Rita told EJ on September 11 that Dominic had signed the paperwork, and when Philip came home from Monte Carlo with the winnings on September 21, Justin told him the house was sold and in escrow. That money paid off EJ’s Titan loan on October 1, but it did not buy back the house. What Maggie has left is a seller’s disclosure form, the one she pulled out on October 5, which asks her to swear to any mold or vermin before the sale becomes final. A failed inspection and an honest form are the family’s whole case.

That is why Tuesday matters. Hank, the home inspector played by Giovanni Mocibob, walks the mansion with Xander Kiriakis and Philip on Tuesday, October 13. Nobody has said who hired him or whether anyone is there on Dominic’s behalf. The sneak peeks show the two men with the inspector in the mansion’s living room, and one preview writer thought the close-up of the brothers looked defeated. We would call it something else: two sons of Victor Kiriakis standing in a house they rigged to fail, hoping a stranger with a clipboard agrees with them.
Does Dominic Marino Get the Kiriakis Mansion on Days of Our Lives?
Nobody knows yet, and the previews go quiet on the house after Tuesday. Wednesday has Gwen making Philip uncomfortable, Thursday has Maggie offering Julie some advice, and Friday has Johnny stepping up to help Sarah and Xander. Not one of those lines mentions the mansion, and the week after is not published yet. So when you read that Dominic has already moved in, know that nothing on screen says so. The sale is in escrow, not closed.
Here is the question that should worry the family more than Hank. On October 8, Belle Black wondered out loud whether Dominic had simply wanted to renovate the place. A reclusive billionaire with a Stefano DiMera connection, paying cash, may not care about rats in the parlor. He may want the Kiriakis mansion for what it is, not for the shape it is in. If that is true, the night they rigged the house was theater for an audience of one who never showed up, and Xander Kiriakis helped build the set.

Our Verdict: The Inspection Was Never the Real Test
Our take: the family rigged a house to scare off a man nobody in Salem has met. Dominic has never been seen, never been cast, and his only aired tie to the town is a birth certificate that lists Stefano as his father. If he wants the mansion as a trophy, Hank’s report is a formality. If he wants a home, the rats might work. Either way, Xander Kiriakis and Philip are about to find out whether a family legacy can be saved with a can of black paint.
Is the money-pit plan the smartest thing a Kiriakis has done all year, or the dumbest since Monte Carlo? Does Dominic even care about rats? Pick a side and argue it out with us on our Facebook page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the Kiriakis family want the mansion to fail inspection?
Because a failed inspection is their only way out of the sale. The house is sold to Dominic Marino and sitting in escrow, and on October 6, 2026 the family rigged it with fake mold, asbestos, leaky pipes, bad wiring and rats so the buyer would see a money pit and back out before Maggie signs the final disclosure form.
Has Dominic Marino been cast on Days of Our Lives?
No. As of October 11, 2026, no actor has been announced for Dominic Marino and he has never been shown on screen. Everything Salem knows about him comes secondhand: a reclusive Italian billionaire paying cash for the Kiriakis mansion, with a birth certificate that lists Stefano DiMera as his father.
