The Days of Our Lives recap October 1, 2026 opens with the worst kind of public humiliation. Melinda Trask, the attorney for Destiny’s parents, went on television and accused Sarah Horton of negligence and medical malpractice. Sarah watched it on a tablet at the Brady Pub with Xander Kiriakis beside her.

By the end of the hour, the man Sarah’s camp blames for her troubles got a nasty surprise of his own. Philip and Xander walked into the DiMera mansion and left EJ DiMera staring at a check in disbelief.

Sarah broke down. People would see her as a liar and a negligent doctor, she cried. Xander told her she is the best person he knows.

Later she found her mother, Maggie Kiriakis, and got some of the comfort she needed. She told Maggie she did not know how she would get through this without Xander.

EJ watched the broadcast from the DiMera living room, but he was not just a viewer. Before Melinda went on, he had her on the phone with an order: do not screw things up. “Don’t worry, EJ. It’s handled,” she told him.

Once it aired, Melinda came by the mansion and asked EJ whether there was any truth to her accusations. EJ played it cool and said what happened was in the documents.

Xander got the last word. Just like EJ did not get away with this, he said, he is not going to get away with what he did to Sarah. In fact, Xander warned, that is going to blow up in his face.

Earlier, Philip returned Maggie’s ring, a gift from her late son Daniel. He had borrowed it for his gambling run in Monte Carlo. Maggie was surprised to learn that Gabi fronted him the money, and happy to hear the two of them are back together.

At home, Marlena Evans confided in Brady Black about the birth certificate that lists her as the mother of Dominic Marino. Stefano never touched her sexually, she said, in all the years he tortured her. So was Dominic conceived some other way? Is he really her son at all?

Marlena admitted she cannot even sleep, and she is angry to be manipulated by Stefano after all these years. Brady promised to find Dominic and get DNA proof one way or another.

When Belle Black came home, she apologized for chasing the clues and wished she had left well enough alone. Marlena told her none of this was her fault.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Steve Johnson Wants Fingerprints

Belle had been out with Steve Johnson, who wants the Verdi program dusted for prints. He is looking for prints belonging to Dr. Rolf and Rita Lesley. At the hospital, Steve and his wife, Kayla Johnson, talked over the lawsuit and Joy’s condition, and Kayla said she wants to get to the bottom of things.

Joy Wesley got her package from her father, muscle relaxers, and debated how many to take. After her test, Kayla told her the results were abnormal. Joy said she was just tired.
