Nine days ago Alex Kiriakis signed an amended custody agreement that keeps his own wife ten feet away from baby Kelsey for a full year, on terms Joy Wesley wrote herself. Stephanie walked out of that signing without a word. Two days later Joy woke from back surgery unable to feel her legs, and Alex promised to be there no matter what.

So Wednesday’s confession to Kayla Johnson is not the first. Stephanie told her mother last week that she could not handle a single thing Alex had to say, and Kayla could not talk her down. She has already moved out once this summer to make room for Joy’s baby. Reading between the lines, Wednesday’s question is whether there is any point moving back again.

Across town, DiMera has two co-CEOs and only one knows what landed on the desk on Tuesday. Johnny DiMera was handed an anonymous complaint to the FDA alleging DiMera dumped tainted Coriseal on Smith Island, was reminded that as co-CEO it is very much his problem, and was told the play is to deny and deflect. Theo Carver was nowhere near that meeting, and he does not need to be.

Theo stopped trusting Johnny on September 7, when he took over a pharmaceuticals meeting Johnny had booked for himself and came away certain Johnny was not being straight. He told Stephanie that day that if Johnny was hiding anything, he was done with him and his father. Wednesday’s line is that Theo grows suspicious. Nobody has published what he does about it, and anyone selling you a secret Johnny plan is making it up. Our recap of the September 9 episode is where both of Wednesday’s fires were lit.

Meanwhile Brady Black meets Steve Johnson to see what else Black Patch can turn up. They already have hospital footage that puts Johnny at Sarah’s office and shows nothing of what he did there. The complainant was worked out inside DiMera within a single scene. It was Sarah Horton, and she said so at the Pub herself.

Is Joy Wesley Really Paralyzed on Days of Our Lives?

Nobody on screen has said so, and the doctor in the room said the opposite. When Joy woke unable to feel her legs, Kayla told her it was likely temporary inflammation from the surgery. Nothing published since has changed that, and the show is letting viewers wonder on purpose.

Here is the part no one else has put together. Kayla is Joy’s treating physician. Kayla also carried baby Kelsey out of the room on September 7, right after Alex signed. A former detective with a conviction on her record and a bakery apron on her hook has a decision to make, and my gut says the badge is not the answer. The rest of Wednesday belongs to Xander Kiriakis and Sarah, exes with a daughter between them, meeting over the sold mansion and ending up in the past. The head writers have said Sarah’s new love for Brady gets tested by her lingering love for Xander. Don’t be surprised if Wednesday is the first crack.
