TL;DR: Holly Jonas collapsed and tested positive for Coriseal on Days of Our Lives, the same drug that killed Destiny and her sister Clea. Holly insists she never took it. EJ DiMera and Rita know the truth: DiMera buried a contaminated batch on Smith Island a couple years ago, destroyed the records, or so they think, and the arsenic-laced drug appears to still be finding its way into Salem. What Is in Holly’s System and Why It Matters

Holly Jonas is in the hospital with Coriseal in her system and she swears she never touched the drug. EJ DiMera knows where that drug came from. And the gap between those two facts is going to swallow DiMera Enterprises whole.

This is the Days of Our Lives storyline that has been building and it finally has a name, a location, and a cover-up big enough to bring down one of Salem’s most powerful families.

Holly Jonas collapsed and her bloodwork came back positive for Coriseal, the same narcotic that killed Destiny and her sister Clea. Holly insists she has only been taking the antidepressant her psychiatrist prescribed and nothing else. Spoilers indicate she is telling the truth.

Which means something got Coriseal into her system without her knowledge.

Sarah Horton and Brady Black have been tracking the Coriseal deaths and the trail has pointed repeatedly toward DiMera Pharmaceuticals. Holly’s collapse made that investigation personal.

Smith Island, Buried Drugs, and a Very Bad Secret

EJ DiMera, with the assistance of Rita, Stefano’s dedicated secretary, has confirmed that DiMera buried a batch of tainted Coriseal on Smith Island years ago. They also destroyed the records associated with the drug.

Smith Island is where the Horton family cabin sits.

The theory is that the buried drugs contaminated the water supply and Holly ingested Coriseal without ever knowing she was being exposed through her own environment. That is a public health cover-up.

Xander Kiriakis is working on Sarah’s request to reconstruct the DiMera paperwork. The Titan-DiMera merger that happened means some of those records may still exist, and Xander is motivated to find every last one.

The Arsenic Detail Nobody Should Sleep On

Rita told EJ the batch was destroyed because it was contaminated with arsenic. And as she said the word, EJ lip-synced it back to her.

He already knew.

That single detail reframes everything. This was not a situation where DiMera quietly handled a problem. EJ knew the drug was contaminated. He knew people had died. He buried the evidence and destroyed the paperwork. And the contamination was apparently never fully contained, because Coriseal is still surfacing in Salem years later.

If the full scope of this comes out, DiMera Pharmaceuticals is not facing a lawsuit. It is facing criminal exposure on a scale no legal team can manage.

Johnny Is Already Sniffing Around

Rita also told EJ that Johnny has been quietly investigating the manufacturing side of DiMera operations, looking for a specific file. EJ does not know exactly what his son has found, but the timing could not be worse. Johnny poking around the manufacturing records while Xander reconstructs the paperwork from outside is a two-front problem closing in on EJ from every direction at once.

Holly’s Theory About Sophia

There is one more layer to this. Holly Jonas is convinced that Sophia is still alive and has been giving her Coriseal deliberately.

Her theory isn’t crazy. Sophia’s body was never found. Spoilers have kept the door open on her return. And Holly’s instinct that someone has been actively dosing her tracks with what we know about the pill swap Sophia previously orchestrated. If Holly is right, this is not an environmental contamination story. It is a targeted poisoning.

What Happens to EJ When It All Comes Out

When Salem finds out what DiMera Pharmaceuticals did, EJ DiMera does not lose a board vote. He loses everything.

The only question is who figures it out first. Sarah and Brady from the outside. Xander from the paperwork. Johnny from the inside. Or Holly Jonas herself, from a hospital bed, convinced the ghost of Sophia Choi has been poisoning her all along.

Salem has not seen a cover-up with this many moving parts in years. And it is only going to get messier.
