LEXIE CARVER HAS BEEN IN DR. ROLF’S POD FOR AGES AND EJ IS ABOUT TO INTRODUCE HER TO SALEM ANEW

TL;DR: The glowing pod mystery is finally solved. Days of Our Lives has confirmed that Tony-nominated actress Nikki Crawford will debut as the resurrected Lexie Carver on Friday, March 6. EJ and Dr. Rolf have been keeping Lexie alive in a secret hospital lab, and when EJ shocks Paulina with the reveal this Friday, the fallout for Abe, Theo, and all of Salem will be seismic.

Lexie Carver Is Alive and She’s Being Played By a Theatrical Genius

The mystery of the glowing pod is officially over. Days of Our Lives has confirmed that Nikki Crawford will debut as the new Lexie Carver on Friday, March 6, and the fallout from this resurrection is going to detonate across every corner of Salem. EJ DiMera and Dr. Wilhelm Rolf have been keeping Lexie alive in a secret laboratory at the hospital this entire time, and on Friday EJ finally shocks Paulina Price by revealing exactly who is inside that pod.

Lexie Carver died in Abe Carver‘s arms in 2012 after being diagnosed with inoperable brain tumors caused by toxic fumes in the DiMera tunnels where Andre DiMera had held her captive years earlier. She chose not to undergo treatment and spent her final weeks with the people she loved. Abe and EJ even transformed Horton Town Square into a Paris setting because Lexie was too fragile to fly. She passed away peacefully during a backyard picnic with Abe, and her ghost has appeared to him in moments of crisis ever since. Salem mourned her as permanently gone. The writers even assured Renee Jones, who played the most iconic version of the role from 1993 to 2012, that the death would be final. Dr. Rolf apparently had other plans.

Nikki Crawford Is Bringing a Tony-Nominated Powerhouse to Daytime

Nikki Crawford told TV Insider that the show didn’t even tell her she was auditioning for the role during the casting process. They used a fake name because the character was so beloved. Once she booked the role, producers revealed who she would actually be playing. Crawford immediately dove into research, watching the show, studying fan sites, and talking to cast members about Lexie’s extensive backstory.

Crawford is a Tony Award-nominated actress who earned her nomination for her portrayal of Tedra in the Pulitzer Prize-winning production Fat Ham. She holds an MFA from Carnegie Mellon University and has appeared in Cruel Intentions, 9-1-1, Criminal Minds, Pretty Little Liars, Tracker, Elsbeth, and A Different World. Born and raised in Washington D.C., she also starred in the European tour of Bubbling Brown Sugar early in her career. This marks her daytime debut.

Crawford has said she approached the resurrection not as science fiction but as a woman waking from a fifteen-year coma. She wanted to honor what Renee built while grounding Lexie in who she is today. At her core, Crawford says, Lexie is driven by love and family. And now that she has been given a second chance at life, the stakes are higher than ever.

This Changes Everything for Abe, Paulina, and Theo

Here is where the real explosion happens. Abe is happily married to Paulina. He has built an entire life since Lexie died. But Lexie was the great love of his life, the mother of his son Theo Carver, and a woman he literally watched die in his arms. Her ghost has visited him multiple times when he needed guidance. And now she is alive. Really, truly alive. Not as a vision. Not as a memory. As a living, breathing woman who has been unconscious in a pod while her husband moved on.

Paulina is already questioning EJ this week, and by Friday she is going to learn that her husband’s first wife has been resurrected right under her nose. Crawford herself teased the impact in her TV Insider interview, saying that Lexie’s return will shake things up especially with Abe now being married to Paulina. She also made it clear that Lexie is not coming back quietly. She is coming back ready to fight for what she loves.

Theo is going to be blindsided. He lost his mother as a child and has carried that grief his entire life. The fact that EJ has been secretly keeping Lexie alive without telling anyone is going to raise serious questions about trust. EJ has positioned this entire project as something that will turn lives upside down in the most wonderful way possible, but not everyone in Salem is going to agree.

Lexie Carver is Stefano DiMera‘s daughter. She has always straddled the line between the DiMera darkness and her own moral compass. Now she is returning to a Salem that has changed dramatically since 2012. Her son is grown. Her husband has remarried. Her father is confirmed dead. And the brother who brought her back is wearing Stefano’s Phoenix ring and sliding deeper into his father’s shadow every single day.

This is not just a resurrection. This is a grenade, and EJ just pulled the pin.
