The Resurrection Drugs Have Been Compromised for Months

There’s something very wrong inside Wilhelm Rolf‘s lab. EJ DiMera has been using the lab for political leverage. Cat Greene and the ISA have been closing in on the entire operation. The cleanup of that lab has been rocky and unsupervised at best, sabotaged at worst, and the woman in stasis at the center of all of it has been sitting there absorbing whatever chemical chaos has unfolded around her pod.

If Lexie Carver wakes up different, the simplest explanation is that the resurrection process was tampered with. The drugs may have been wrong. The protocol may have been interrupted. Rolf himself has been distracted by EJ’s scheming and  Kristen DiMera‘s spiral. The conditions under which Lexie was supposed to come back to consciousness were never the controlled medical scenario she needed.

She is waking up but she is not quite the woman Theo remembers. That is the version of this story that hurts the most. And at the center of the tale is a son who got his mother back for an hour and is about to lose her again in slow motion.

The Brain Tumor Theory Nobody Wants to Say Out Loud

Here is the harder version. Lexie originally died of a brain tumor. The pod kept her body alive. The pod did not necessarily cure what put her in there in the first place. If Wilhelm Rolf brought her back without addressing the underlying medical reason she died, she wakes up with a death sentence still ticking inside her head.

That is why spoilers say the family should be ready to say goodbye. That is why she is different. The brain that sustained her personality, her memories, her relationships, her medical career, may not be the brain she had before. Damage. Personality changes. Memory gaps. The slow realization that the woman everyone loved came back on borrowed time.

Theo is going to have to watch his mother slip away again, knowing what he lost the first time. Abe is going to have to bury her twice. Every one of her siblings will be devastated, as will the community who loved her.

The Will Reading Is Going to Break Theo Carver

Lexie Carver walking out of that pod is supposed to be the most joyful moment Salem has had in years. Spoilers are telling us it might be the saddest. That is the part that lands like a punch. Theo is going to look at his mother for the first time as an adult, watch her open her eyes, and find out that the goodbye he never got to say the first time is the goodbye he is going to have to give again.
