OWEN KENT HOLDS JEREMY AND STEPHANIE HOSTAGE ON DAYS & THREE IS A CROWD!

TL;DR: Owen Kent has both Stephanie Johnson and Jeremy Horton tied up at gunpoint on Days of Our Lives this week, and Owen has zero reason to keep Jeremy alive. The cruel twist? Jeremy was in the middle of rescuing the very woman who accused him of being a monster when Owen walked in. If Jeremy dies, Stephanie will carry that guilt forever.

The Man Salem Railroaded Was Trying to Be a Hero

Last Friday’s cliffhanger delivered exactly what DAYS fans have been dreading and hoping for in equal measure. Stephanie Johnson was tied up, terrified, and trying to free herself when Jeremy Horton showed up and started untying her restraints. He told her he just wanted to get her out of there. He wasn’t the kidnapper. He was the rescuer. And then Owen Kent walked through the door and said it was too late.

Now both of them are captives. And the sickening irony should be eating every person in Salem alive, because for weeks they treated Jeremy like a convicted criminal based on circumstantial garbage. Alex Kiriakis confronted him. Steve Johnson hunted him through the streets. Julie Williams called his father Mike to share the news. The cops put out an APB. And Stephanie Johnson herself believed her ex was stalking her all over again. Meanwhile, the actual monster was framing Jeremy from the shadows.

On Monday, Stephanie Johnson was stunned to learn her stalker’s identity. She saw flashbacks revealing how Owen framed Jeremy around Salem, including in Horton Square and the school where he taught fifth graders. Jeremy apparently found Stephanie’s phone, realized something was wrong, tracked her down, and walked straight into Owen’s trap. That’s the behavior of a man who knew nobody would believe him. So he took matters into his own hands.

Owen Has Every Reason to Kill Jeremy

Here’s why this situation is so dangerous. Owen Kent is obsessed with Stephanie. He has been since 2009, when EJ DiMera ordered him to kidnap her and Owen kept her locked in his father’s mortuary because he fell in love with his captive. Sixteen years later, the obsession hasn’t faded. He’s already told Stephanie he loves her but scolds her because she’s been “unfaithful”. He’s referring to her marriage to Alex but he’s not pleased with Jeremy. She slept with him, too. In Owen’s fractured mind, Stephanie belongs only to him.

Jeremy has no place in that fantasy. Owen needed Jeremy alive when he was useful as a fall guy, but now that Owen has revealed himself, that’s over. Jeremy is a liability. Owen has him tied up and helpless. There is absolutely no incentive for Owen Kent to let Jeremy Horton walk out of that room alive.

Stephanie’s Guilt Could Destroy Her

Tuesday’s spoiler says Stephanie remains stuck with Jeremy. That forced proximity is going to be excruciating, because she’s sitting across from a man she publicly accused, a man whose reputation she helped destroy, a man whose own family was told he was a dangerous predator. And that man is only there because he came to save her.

If Owen kills Jeremy, Stephanie will have to live with the knowledge that the person she vilified died trying to rescue her. That kind of guilt doesn’t wash off. Kayla Johnson and Steve railroaded Jeremy right alongside everyone else. Marlena Evans was the only voice of reason, and even she couldn’t convince Salem fast enough. The entire townowes Jeremy an apology they may never get the chance to deliver.

Could Stephanie End Up Saving Jeremy Instead?

Friday’s spoiler says Stephanie plans an escape. Spoilers for the following week suggest Jeremy may vow to help distract Owen so Stephanie can get free, and that Alex and Jeremy might eventually team up to save her. But there’s a version of this story that’s far more powerful. What if Stephanie Johnson is the one who saves Jeremy’s life?

Owen won’t hurt Stephanie. Everyone from Jada Hunter to Marlena has pointed out that this stalker “loves” his victim. That gives Stephanie a bizarre kind of leverage that Jeremy doesn’t have. If she can manipulate Owen’s delusion and play into his fantasy long enough to create an opening, she could be the reason Jeremy walks out alive. And that act of saving the man she wrongly condemned would be the kind of redemption arc that Days of Our Lives does well. Steve and Brady Black are searching. Rafe Hernandez is closing in. But right now, the only person who can keep Jeremy Horton alive might be the woman who put a target on his back.

Do you think Jeremy will survive Owen’s captivity? Should Stephanie be the one to save him after everything she put him through? Drop your take below!

@soapoperamag More, please! It felt so great to see Justin and Bonnie together again but it wasn't long enough. It's time to put them front and center and keep them there for a little while! #DaysofOurLives ♬ original sound – Soap Opera Magazine
