Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Peter Blake Returns After 27 Years — Dan Gauthier Debuts as Kristen’s Dangerous Brother

PETER BLAKE IS BACK AND SALEM WILL NEVER BE THE SAME

TL;DR: Days of Our Lives has recast the role of Peter Blake with One Life to Live alum Dan Gauthier. Kristen DiMera’s criminal brother returns December 19, 2025 after escaping prison 27 years ago — and his arrival coincides with the discovery of human bones in the DiMera crypt.

The Prodigal Villain Finally Comes Home

After nearly three decades away from Salem, Peter Blake is walking back into the DiMera mansion — and the timing could NOT be more suspicious. Dan Gauthier, best known for playing Kevin Buchanan on One Life to Live, is stepping into the role originally portrayed by Jason Brooks from 1993 to 1998.

Let’s be clear about who this man is. Peter Blake escaped prison 27 years ago after racking up charges for drug trafficking, attempted murder, and kidnapping. He was obsessed with Jennifer Horton to the point of INSANITY — literally suffering from something called “Jungle Madness” before he disappeared. And now he’s coming back right when the DiMera family is at its most fractured and vulnerable.

Gauthier told TV Guide Magazine he deliberately avoided watching any of Brooks’ original performances. He’s making Peter his own, which takes serious guts when you’re stepping into a character with that much history. But this is a man who spent seven years navigating the Buchanan family drama on OLTL. He knows exactly how to play charming and dangerous at the same time.

Those Crypt Bones Are NOT a Coincidence

Here’s where things get really interesting. Just days before Peter’s return was announced, Kristen, Chad, and Theo stumbled upon human bones hidden in the DiMera tunnels. That’s right — BONES. And Rafe Hernandez is about to give EJ a positive ID on those remains.

The proximity of these two events is screaming at us. Peter Blake once faked his own death in Jennifer Horton’s arms to frame Jack Deveraux. He built her a REPLICA of the Aremid house because his obsession ran that deep. This is a man who knows how to stage a scene and bury his secrets — sometimes literally.

Could those bones belong to a victim of Peter’s past schemes? Are they connected to the fake body he used in the 90s? Or do they expose something even darker about Stefano’s theft of the Blake children? For more Days of Our Lives coverage, check out all our latest DAYS spoilers and news.

The Blake family is officially reforming. Rachel Blake revealed herself as the “Woman in White” back in January after being presumed dead since 1996. Kristen just escaped prison and is hiding in that very same crypt. Now Peter is returning. They’re DiMeras by Stefano’s adoption, but Blakes by BLOOD. And something tells me they have unfinished business with the family that “stole” them.

Jennifer Horton Should Be Terrified

If anyone should be losing sleep over Peter Blake’s return, it’s Jennifer Horton. This woman is already spiraling. She’s fighting Chad for custody of Thomas and Charlotte, grieving Doug Williams, and alienating everyone who loves her. She didn’t even have Chad at Thanksgiving dinner because of how badly things have deteriorated between them.

Peter’s obsession with Jennifer defined his entire original run. He married her. He gaslit her. He traumatized her in ways that took years to heal. And now? Now she’s isolated, fragile, and desperate. That’s EXACTLY the kind of vulnerability Peter knows how to exploit.

Don’t be surprised if Peter positions himself as Jennifer’s ally against Chad. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, right? Except Peter Blake doesn’t have friends. He has targets and pawns. Jennifer falling into his orbit again would be a psychological NIGHTMARE — and honestly, the exact kind of gothic thriller Days does best.

EJ Has No Idea What’s Coming

EJ DiMera thinks he’s the rightful Phoenix heir because Stefano’s blood runs through his veins. But Peter? Peter was groomed as Stefano’s consigliere during the glory days. He’s been voting by proxy in DiMera board meetings for YEARS. This man has been watching, waiting, and strategizing from afar.

With Gabi also vying for power and EJ still recovering from being shot by his own niece, DiMera Enterprises is facing a potential three-way civil war. Peter brings institutional memory, old secrets, and a legitimate claim to leadership that EJ cannot simply dismiss.

This reunion also brings Dan Gauthier back together with John-Paul Lavoisier, who plays Philip Kiriakis. These two portrayed brothers Kevin and Rex Buchanan on OLTL, so the chemistry should be electric.

December 19th cannot come fast enough.
