Marlena Evans granted Rachel a day pass from Bayview, and that decision led to the breakthrough we’ve been waiting for! Rachel, Brady, and Kristen all sat down together and made a monumental agreement – Rachel is going to tell the TRUTH about what really happened with EJ’s shooting!
This is HUGE for Days of Our Lives because Rachel has been hiding the truth for months while her parents dealt with the fallout. Kristen has been protecting Rachel at every turn, even when it meant facing prison time herself. Brady has been furious with both of them for the lies and cover-ups. Now finally, FINALLY, they’re all on the same page!
The fact that Marlena trusted Rachel enough to give her a day pass shows that Rachel is making real progress in therapy at Bayview. Marlena doesn’t hand out day passes to just anyone, especially not to teenagers who framed their own fathers for murder! Kristen DiMera Is Shackled To A Hospital Bed And Her Freedom Depends On Rachel
Kristen is currently in the hospital SHACKLED to a bed like a common criminal, which is absolutely devastating! This woman has been protecting her daughter for months, covering up Rachel’s crimes, and now she’s paying the price by being treated like a dangerous prisoner!
The image of Kristen chained to a hospital bed while her daughter holds the key to her freedom is heartbreaking. Kristen has done terrible things in her life, but everything she’s done recently has been motivated by love for Rachel. She didn’t commit this particular crime – she just covered it up to protect her child!
Brady visiting Kristen in the hospital while she’s shackled shows he still cares despite everything. These two have a complicated history, but they share a daughter, and Brady doesn’t want to see Kristen suffer unnecessarily. The fact that he’s willing to work with Kristen on getting Rachel to confess proves he understands that keeping Rachel’s secret has hurt everyone!

Brady deserves massive credit for getting this family agreement in place! He’s been the voice of reason throughout this entire nightmare, telling both Kristen and Rachel that the lies needed to stop. Brady has been furious, heartbroken, and exhausted dealing with their deception!
Getting Rachel to agree to confess was probably the hardest part. Rachel has been stubborn and defensive about her actions, insisting she was protecting her mother. Brady had to help Rachel understand that the REAL way to protect Kristen is to tell the truth and clear her name!
Brady also had to convince Kristen to let Rachel confess, which goes against every protective instinct Kristen has. Kristen has spent months covering for Rachel because she doesn’t want her daughter to face consequences. Brady had to help Kristen see that Rachel facing appropriate consequences at Bayview is better than Kristen going to prison for years!
This family meeting shows Brady at his absolute best as a father. He loves both Kristen and Rachel, but he’s not willing to let them destroy their lives with lies. Brady stood firm and demanded accountability, and it WORKED!
Will Rachel Black Actually Follow Through With Her Confession?
The big question now is whether Rachel will actually go through with this confession or if she’ll panic and back out at the last minute! Rachel agreed to tell the truth during an emotional family meeting, but saying you’ll confess and actually doing it are two very different things!
Rachel has been incredibly manipulative throughout this storyline. She framed her own father for murder! She’s been playing mind games with everyone around her! What’s to stop Rachel from agreeing to this confession just to buy time or manipulate the situation further?
On the other hand, Rachel did just spend Christmas at Bayview with Marlena showing her love and support. Maybe that visit reminded Rachel what it’s like to have family who believe in her ability to do the right thing. Maybe Rachel is genuinely ready to take responsibility for her actions!
If Rachel DOES follow through, this could be the turning point in her treatment at Bayview. Telling the truth and facing consequences is a huge step toward actual healing. But if Rachel backs out, she’s going to destroy what little trust Brady and Kristen have left in her!
What Happens To Kristen If Rachel Confesses?
If Rachel tells the truth about EJ’s shooting, Kristen could be released from custody almost immediately! The charges against Kristen are based on the assumption that she was involved in or covering up a crime. If Rachel confesses and clears Kristen’s name, those charges should be dropped!
Kristen could walk out of that hospital without the shackles and go home. She could rebuild her life and her relationship with Brady and Rachel. She could finally stop looking over her shoulder waiting for the other shoe to drop!
But Days of Our Lives fans know Kristen DiMera never stays out of trouble for long. Even if these charges get dropped, Kristen will find some other scheme or plot to get involved in. That’s just who Kristen is – she can’t help herself!
The real question is whether this experience will change Kristen’s approach to parenting Rachel. Will Kristen finally understand that protecting Rachel from consequences actually HURTS her? Or will Kristen go right back to enabling Rachel’s worst behavior the next time trouble comes around?
