A Birthday Party Confession

During Rachel’s recent “Alice in Wonderland” themed birthday celebration (which was equal parts adorable and awkward, especially with EJ dressed as Tweedledum), something truly revealing happened. After the festivities wound down, Rachel ran downstairs to her father Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) following a nightmare. As daddy comforted his little girl, she dropped a bombshell – she had heard a gunshot.

Wait. What?

While Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) quickly covered, assuring her daughter it was just a dish breaking and EJ was merely having a PTSD episode in the living room, the revelation sent shockwaves through viewers. How much does Rachel actually know? And more importantly – was she involved?

Let’s look at the evidence, shall we? Rachel mentioned the shooting to her uncle EJ with surprising nonchalance. Almost TOO casual, if you ask me. Was she testing him? Gauging his reaction? Seeing how much he remembered?

Don’t forget – this is the same little girl who orchestrated keeping Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) away from her father and later participated in her kidnapping alongside grandmother Rachel DiMera (Roslyn Gentle). The DiMera blood runs strong in this one!

The Height Theory

One particularly observant fan broke down the most compelling evidence: “Rachel shot EJ. The source of her nightmares are her recalling what she did. EJ’s memory isn’t clear since his coma as he thinks it was Johnny (Carson Boatman). EJ was standing when he saw Johnny with the gun. He was sitting when he was shot. At a child’s height.”
