When Rex Brady returns to Salem with his arm suspiciously in a sling, all hell breaks loose! What’s being called a simple hit-and-run accident has Kate Roberts Brady seeing red and convinced there’s something far more sinister at play.
KATE SUSPECTS EJ ORDERED A HIT ON REX BEFORE HIS COMA
The timing couldn’t be more suspicious. Just weeks after EJ DiMera directly threatened Kate’s children—literally telling her, “Maybe I’ll just destroy Kate’s kids. So many sons to pick from”—Rex shows up injured from a so-called “accident.” Coincidence? Kate doesn’t think so!
The fierce mama bear is absolutely certain that EJ ordered a hit on her son before he conveniently ended up in a medically induced coma himself. Talk about perfect timing! With EJ unable to defend himself (or gloat about his handiwork), Kate is left fuming and searching for proof that this was no random incident.
THE TIMING RAISES SERIOUS QUESTIONS
Let’s look at the facts. EJ makes threats against Kate’s children. Rex gets hit by a car. Then EJ winds up in a coma. The sequence of events is suspicious enough to make anyone wonder if EJ orchestrated the whole thing before his medical crisis.
What makes this even more intriguing is that Kate immediately connected the dots between her confrontation with EJ and Rex’s injuries. When she warned EJ, “You lay one finger on any of my children and I will kill you myself,” she wasn’t making idle threats—and she clearly believes EJ wasn’t either.
COULD SOMEONE ELSE BE BEHIND REX’S HIT-AND-RUN?
While EJ is the obvious suspect, we can’t rule out other possibilities. Salem is crawling with people who might want to send Kate a message or have their own beef with Rex.
With Xander Kiriakis currently plotting to make his move on DiMera Enterprises while EJ is incapacitated, could he have orchestrated the hit to distract Kate? And what about Vivian Alamain, who’s suspiciously returned to town making demands? Her history with Kate is toxic enough to make her a prime suspect.
Then there’s the wild card possibility—could someone be trying to frame EJ? With so many enemies circling the DiMeras, setting up EJ for an attack on Rex would be a clever way to turn Kate’s fury against him while he’s unable to defend himself.

Poor Rex seems to have returned home only to find himself smack in the middle of Salem’s latest power struggle. While he recovers from his injuries, the questions continue to swirl: Was this truly a random accident? Did EJ order a hit before falling into his coma? Or is someone else pulling strings to create chaos among Salem’s elite families?
One thing’s certain—with Kate Roberts Brady on the warpath and determined to protect her son, whoever is responsible better watch their back. Because if there’s one thing we know about Kate, it’s that she always makes good on her threats. And with EJ currently unable to defend himself, he might wake up to find himself in even more danger than when he went under.
