Philip Forgave Xander, So Why Can’t Sarah?

Here’s the part that really gets me. Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) was the actual VICTIM. He’s the one who got beaten half to death. He’s the one who spent time in a coma. And guess what Philip did when Xander came to apologize? He forgave him. Philip told Xander he’s “been there” with Sarah’s rigid moral standards. The man who suffered at Xander’s hands found it in himself to move forward, but Sarah is still treating her ex like he’s beyond redemption.

If you’ve been keeping up with Days of Our Lives spoilers, you know that Xander has been doing the work. He’s in anger management therapy with Marlena Evans. He asked for 50/50 custody, not full custody. He gave Maggie a beautiful new portrait of Victor as a peace offering. Maggie acknowledged his effort and accepted his apology. But Sarah? Sarah left his ornament in the box during the Horton Christmas tree ceremony. That wasn’t about Victoria’s safety. That was about making sure Xander FELT excluded.

Let’s Talk About Sarah’s Own History

Are we supposed to pretend Sarah Horton doesn’t have her own complicated moral resume? This is the same woman who was part of the baby Mickey switch nightmare. The same woman who helped cover up Philip’s forgery that cost Xander his job at Titan. She’s spent years forgiving Xander for worse things (he literally helped swap babies once!) and now suddenly lying about beating Philip is the unforgivable sin?

The “Pure Evil” label is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. Sarah’s core trauma is deception, specifically lies about paternity and identity. So when Xander confessed to lying about Philip, it reactivated all of that. Fair enough. But labeling someone “Pure Evil” while you’re kissing another man eight weeks later and using your child as a custody weapon is… a choice. A QUESTIONABLE one.

What Happens When Victoria Grows Up?

Don’t be surprised if this whole thing blows up in Sarah’s face. Xander isn’t going anywhere. He’s allied with Kate Roberts now, which means “Soft Xander” is probably done and “Corporate Raider Xander” is coming back. If Sarah keeps pushing him out of Victoria’s life while parading her new romance around, she might be the one who looks bad when her daughter is old enough to ask questions.

And speaking of asking questions… what exactly is Brady bringing to this situation? The man is in a custody war with Kristen DiMera over Rachel. He’s got his OWN messy co-parenting drama. Two people bonding over shared trauma and moving this fast isn’t a foundation for stability. It’s a recipe for disaster. Fans are already speculating that this romance is designed to be a short-term plot that eventually blows up, possibly pushing Xander back toward his darker impulses.

The bottom line? Sarah Horton might want to spend less time calling her ex “Pure Evil” and more time looking in a mirror. Eight weeks. A new man living in the house. Using Victoria as leverage. Excluding Xander from family traditions while the actual victim has moved on. That’s not the moral high ground. That’s just revenge dressed up as righteousness.
