The news comes courtesy of Stephanie Sloane, who shared a photo of Mattsson outside her new dressing room at the Days of Our Lives studio. She has already started taping.

Fans noticed immediately that Mattsson is now a brunette. During her entire General Hospital run she was blonde, which means whatever character she is stepping into on Days of Our Lives is a departure from everything audiences have seen from her before. Since the show films roughly ten months in advance, viewers should not expect to see her on screen until early 2027. As for who she is playing, that is being kept completely under wraps.

Seven Years of Sasha Gilmore on General Hospital

Back to back years of devastating grief sent Sasha into a drug addition spiral that cost her career, her reputation, and very nearly her freedom when she was declared mentally incompetent and placed under the manipulative guardianship of Gladys Corbin. She eventually clawed her way back, found her footing working in the Quartermaine kitchen, and reconnected with Michael in a relationship that produced daughter Daisy. Along the way, it was revealed that Sasha’s real parents were two of General Hospital‘s most beloved legacy characters: Holly Sutton and Robert Scorpio. That reveal alone connected her to decades of General Hospital history and gave her character a weight that went far beyond her con artist introduction.

Sofia Mattsson exited General Hospital on July 18, 2025, when Sasha left Port Charles with baby Daisy to protect herself and her daughter following another round of intense personal drama. She moved to Paris with Holly and Robert, although Jason Morgan reminded her she would always have a home to come back to. The door was left open. But it turns out the next door she’ll walk through leads to Salem.
