When Johnny and Chanel first approached Sophia and Tate about adoption back in early 2025, Sophia’s ultra-religious mother Amy Choi had to be convinced that they were “upstanding and religious” people. The DiMera name is NOTORIOUS in Salem for crimes, scandals, and literal devil possession!
But Amy aside, Sophia has made her feelings clear. She gave up baby Trey under Salem’s Safe Haven law and allowed him to be placed in foster care with Javi Hernandez and Leo Stark. When Johnny and Chanel saw the adoption notice in the newspaper and applied, Sophia was FURIOUS that the one couple she specifically didn’t want raising her child ended up getting him!

If she escapes Bayview with Rachel’s help—and based on Rachel’s comment about leaving “soon,” that seems likely—the two of them could use Johnny and Chanel’s exhaustion against them. Maybe they snatch Trey during a rare moment when the new parents are both asleep. Maybe they create a distraction that pulls Johnny and Chanel away from the house. Maybe they pose as delivery people or hospital staff!
Will Baby Trey Actually Be Kidnapped Soon?
The million-dollar question: Is baby Trey actually going to get kidnapped, or are we just connecting terrifying dots? Based on everything we’re seeing, a kidnapping feels INEVITABLE! The DiMera crypt kidnapping storyline is wrapping up with Peter Blake proving to be the kidnapper and it seems the stalker who’s targeting Stephanie and Alex will soon be determined to be Owen Kent.
