Chanel triggered Sophia entirely, gushing as she shared photo after photo of her baby, and then Sophia figured out Chanel is pregnant. Now Sophia has told Melinda Trask she will stop at nothing to get baby Trey back. What could Dr. Gregory have been thinking? Nothing! Because she clearly wasn’t thinking at all!

Dr. Gregory has officially lost all credibility on Days. After the Holly Jonas visit with Sophia Choi turned violent – Sophia literally tried to slap her former best friend – one would think the Bayview psychiatrist might have insisted future visits be supervised! But she didn’t. Instead, Dr. Gregory decided it would be a grand idea to have Chanel Dupree, who’s raising Sophia’s baby with her husband, Johnny DiMera, come to Bayview for a mom-to-mom talk. Watching it unfold was painful.

Chanel is the woman who adopted Sophia Choi’s baby. The woman Sophia blames for taking Trey from her. The woman married to Johnny, who Sophia accused of inappropriate behavior to sabotage the original adoption. Let’s invite HER to Bayview for a friendly chat with our extremely unstable patient, who is pretending she can’t speak.

Chanel Dupree waltzed into the room and gushed over her good fortune as Trey’s new mama, then proceeded to show Sophia pictures of the baby. Photos of the infant Sophia gave birth to. The child she wanted to keep but lost due to her own scheming. Sophia eventually pushed the phone away, but inside? That girl is planning something devious.

Those Peppermints Are About To Become a Major Problem

Here’s where things get terrifying. Chanel had morning sickness during the visit and popped some peppermint candies to settle her stomach. The exact same remedy Sophia used during her own pregnancy. Sophia recognized the signs and figured out Chanel is pregnant again.

The woman raising her biological son is expecting another child. This information in the hands of someone as unhinged as Sophia is absolutely catastrophic.

But wait, it gets worse. Chanel left her mints behind at Bayview. Sophia has access to them. This is the same Sophia who has already demonstrated she can sneak out of Bayview whenever she wants. The same Sophia who convinced Rachel Black to steal money from her father for a contraband cell phone. The same Sophia who has been plotting against Johnny and Chanel for months.

Chanel Dupree suffered a devastating miscarriage previously after radiation exposure during Paulina Price’s rescue mission. She was told getting pregnant again could be risky. And now the one person in Salem who would love to see something terrible happen to Chanel has potentially poisonable access to something Chanel will consume without a second thought.

Melinda Trask Got An Earful

Shortly after this disaster, Melinda Trask showed up at Bayview to meet with her client. Sophia dropped the mute act faster than Leo Stark drops hot gossip. She has been faking this entire catatonic episode entirely. The better to orchestrate her devious plans, she insinuates to Melinda.

Sophia tells Melinda she wants Trey away from Chanel and Johnny DiMera by whatever means necessary. Let that sink in. She is willing to do ANYTHING to get her baby back. And she is going to maintain her silence so nobody knows what she’s plotting.

Melinda already helped Sophia stage a fake pregnancy and adoption scheme. She provided fake baby bellies and forged documents. Will she help Sophia escape? Will she look the other way while Sophia destroys Chanel’s life?

Dr. Gregory Just Handed Sophia Choi Everything She Needed

The truly maddening part is that Dr. Gregory handed Sophia all this ammunition on a silver platter. One disastrous visit gave Sophia confirmation that Chanel is pregnant, potential access to something she can tamper with, and the motivation to escalate her schemes immediately.

Meanwhile, Dr. Gregory still believes Sophia cannot speak. She thinks her patient made progress because Sophia wrote “I HATE HER” about Holly. Progress?! We think not.

In fact, we think Dr. Gregory needs to schedule an emergency consultation with Dr. Marlena Evans before Sophia burns Salem to the ground. This psychiatrist is clearly in over her head with a patient who is playing her like a fiddle while plotting revenge against everyone who wronged her.
