The DiMera War: EJ and Stefan’s Battle for Power on Days of Our Lives
The feud between EJ and Stefan on Days of Our Lives has escalated beyond control. Their initial plan to turn the tables on Stefan went awry, and now they are at each other’s throats, determined to gain complete control of the DiMera family business.
While the brothers did sit down to try and hash things out, it was merely a façade to the outside world. Headwriter Ron Carlivati revealed that both EJ and Stefan have a bit of a dark side and are willing to play dirty to achieve their goals. The situation has become so volatile that it’s like watching a Stefano-like war, and lines are being drawn in the sand.
Despite their power couple partners, Nicole and Gabi, being unable to reign them in, both EJ and Stefan are determined to strip the other of power in DiMera. However, if they continue fighting without any restraint, they risk losing everything. This open warfare is a significant shift from their initial brotherly fun, and the gloves have come off.
If they do destroy each other’s chances of running the company, Tony and Chad seem like the logical choices to take over. However, Tony’s lack of cutthroat edge and Chad’s desire to start life anew after Abigail’s death may prevent them from taking over. Megan is out of the picture as an international fugitive and criminal. Peter Blake’s whereabouts are unknown, leaving Kristen as the only viable option.
Kristen is in hot water due to her past actions, but her upcoming redemption arc may pave the way for her to take over the family business. She has already brainwashed Stefan and may be able to manipulate him further to benefit her ambitions. The question remains, though, would she want the top chair?
The DiMeras are in for a bumpy ride as the battle for the family business rages on. It’s unclear who will emerge victorious, but one thing is for sure – this war has just begun, and it’s going to get much more intense before it’s over.
