VICO ESCORCIA TAKES OVER AS ARIANNA HORTON ON DAYS

TL;DR: Days of Our Lives has cast Vico Escorcia as the new Arianna Horton, taking over the role from Marissa Reyes who made her final appearance on March 25. The actress is from Mexico City, fluent in three languages, nominated for two Ariel Awards, and carrying credits on Apple TV+, Netflix, and Vix+. She debuts next week.

A New Ari Is Coming to Salem

Vico Escorcia is stepping into one of Salem’s most beloved legacy roles. The actress has been cast as Arianna Horton on Days of Our Lives, taking over from Marissa Reyes who wrapped her run on March 25 after joining the show in May 2025.

Victoria “Vico” Escorcia was born in Mexico City and is half French, half Mexican. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and French. That alone makes her one of the most internationally credentialed performers to join the Days of Our Lives cast in recent memory, but her resume goes well beyond language skills.

She has been nominated for two Ariel Awards, which are the Mexican equivalent of the Academy Awards, and she received a Silver Goddess Award for her performance in Los Crímenes de Mar del Norte. The Silver Goddess is the Mexican equivalent of the Golden Globe, which means Vico Escorcia walked into her Salem audition with more international hardware than most daytime performers collect in a career.

Her recent credits include Paloma in Acapulco on Apple TV+, a role in Se llamaba Pedro Infante on Vix+, and ¡Que Viva México! on Netflix. She has also appeared in Killer Women and Undone, giving her a mix of streaming, network, and international work that few soap newcomers bring to their first day on set. It is the kind of resume that suggests she is not coming to Salem to warm a seat in the background. She is coming to work.

Reyes left the role on her own terms. She posted a heartfelt farewell on Instagram noting that the decision was hers and hers alone and that she would always look back on her time in Salem with gratitude and affection. Her castmates flooded the post with love. Hank Northrop, who plays Liam Selejko, called her a superstar and wrote that it was a privilege and joy to work with her. Ashley Puzemis, who plays Holly Jonas, called her a soul sister. Cherie Jimenez, her on screen mother Gabi Hernandez, simply called her a soulmate.

During Reyes’ run, Ari returned to Salem, celebrated her 18th birthday, had a brief relationship with Doug Williams III, developed a close friendship with Holly, and most recently formed a romantic connection with Liam. Her final episode featured Ari sharing good news with Liam, a fitting and hopeful note to leave on.

The character of Ari is a true Salem legacy. She is the daughter of Will Horton and Gabi, born on screen in 2013 and delivered by Sonny Kiriakis in an abandoned shed on Smith Island during one of the most chaotic days in Salem history. She was named after two aunts, Arianna Hernandez and Grace DiMera, and has been raised at various points by Gabi, Will, and Sonny across Salem, Arizona, and New Zealand. That kind of legacy comes with weight, and whoever steps into the role has to carry every bit of it.

Vico Escorcia looks more than ready. With award nominations, international range, and a filmography that spans three languages and multiple platforms, the new Ari is stepping into a world that has no shortage of drama waiting for her. The storyline with Liam is still very much alive and Salem is not slowing down for anyone.

Welcome to Salem, Vico Escorcia. We cannot wait to see what you do with the role.
