XANDER’S HYPOCRISY, DIMERA SECRETS, AND A KIDNAPPING THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING

TL;DR: The Days of Our Lives 2025 winter preview delivers absolute chaos — Xander Kiriakis fires Brady Black then immediately sleeps with Gwen Rizczech, EJ DiMera finally reveals who’s in the cryogenic chamber as Dr. Rolf prepares for a Stefano resurrection, and Stephanie Johnson gets chloroformed and kidnapped just as she’s heading toward her wedding with Alex Kiriakis.

Xander Kiriakis Just Showed Salem Who He Really Is

Well. WELL. If you thought Xander Kiriakis had finally turned a corner and become the reformed family man he’s been pretending to be for years, the winter preview just ripped that fantasy to shreds and set it on fire.

Here’s what happens: Xander fires Brady Black from Titan. The presumed reason? Brady had the audacity to date Sarah Horton Kiriakis — Xander’s ex-wife and the mother of his child. And look, we get it. Watching your ex move on with your cousin has to sting. But what Xander does NEXT is where this whole thing goes completely off the rails.

The same man who just fired Brady for being with Sarah… immediately crawls into bed with Gwen Rizczech. The same Gwen he was engaged to. The same Gwen who has a history of scheming, lying, and causing chaos wherever she goes. That’s the woman Xander chooses to celebrate his victory with. Make it make sense, because I genuinely cannot.

And it gets worse. There’s a scene where Gwen and Kristen DiMera — two of Salem’s most notorious troublemakers — are literally toasting champagne glasses to “getting everything we want.” If that doesn’t scream coordinated takedown, I don’t know what does. These women aren’t just celebrating a hookup. They’re celebrating a plan coming together.

Maggie’s Disgust Is Aimed at the Wrong Person

Meanwhile, Maggie Horton Kiriakis — Salem’s beloved matriarch and moral compass — tells Brady she “can’t stand to look at his face.” Ouch. That’s brutal coming from the woman who’s supposed to be the heart of the Kiriakis family.

But here’s where I need someone to explain the logic to me. Maggie is disgusted with Brady… for what exactly? Dating Sarah? Moving on with his life? Meanwhile, her precious Xander just fired a family member and hopped into bed with his scheming ex-fiancée before the ink on Brady’s termination papers was dry. Where’s THAT energy, Maggie?

The DiMera Crypt Is About to Change Everything

But the Kiriakis drama is just the appetizer. The real main course? The DiMera family is about to blow the roof off Salem with secrets that have been literally frozen in time.

The preview shows Chad DiMera and Theo Carver joining Kristen and Tony DiMera in the DiMera crypt, where they’re all staring at a set of BONES. Yes, bones. In the crypt. Because apparently that’s just a normal Tuesday for this family. EJ DiMera finally reveals who — or what — is in that cryogenic chamber that’s been teased for months. And Rafe Hernandez identifies the bones and reports back to EJ with “pertinent information.”

But the real jaw-dropper? Dr. Wilhelm Rolf is ready for a Stefano DiMera resurrection.

Let that sink in. Stefano. The Phoenix himself. The man who has died and returned more times than anyone can count. The villain who terrorized Salem for decades. Dr. Rolf is apparently prepared to bring him back AGAIN. Because in Salem, death is merely an inconvenience — especially if your last name is DiMera.

EJ gathers the entire DiMera family in the mansion living room and delivers a line that honestly gave me chills: “The house of DiMera will not fall.” That’s not just a statement. That’s a declaration of war against anyone who thought this family was done causing problems. If you’re keeping track of the latest Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates, you know the DiMeras never stay down for long.

Stephanie’s Happy Ending Just Became a Nightmare

And then there’s Stephanie Johnson. Poor, traumatized, can’t-catch-a-break Stephanie Johnson.

The preview shows her and Alex Kiriakis moving forward with wedding plans. Finally! Some happiness for a woman who has been through the absolute wringer with relationships. Her last boyfriend turned out to have a secret alternate personality. Before that? A string of disasters. This should be her moment.

Except it isn’t. Because Stephanie gets CHLOROFORMED and KIDNAPPED.

The preview suggests Jeremy Horton might be responsible, but here’s where things get really interesting. There’s a scene featuring a character played by Wes Ramsey. Now, GH fans know him as the villainous Peter August. But DOOL fans with long memories? They remember him as Owen Kent — a character who was OBSESSED with Stephanie back in 2009.

Owen literally kidnapped Stephanie before. He held her captive because of his twisted fixation on her. If the show is bringing back that character — or even just teasing the possibility — this isn’t just a kidnapping storyline. This is Stephanie’s worst nightmare literally returning to haunt her.

The daughter of Steve and Kayla Johnson has grown up watching her parents survive kidnappings, torture, and every kind of danger Salem can throw at them. And now she’s reliving her own trauma just as she thought she was finally getting her happy ending. The cruelty of it is almost poetic in the worst possible way.

Salem Is About to Explode

This winter preview isn’t just promising drama — it’s promising DEVASTATION on multiple fronts. The Kiriakis family is being torn apart by Xander’s hypocrisy and Gwen’s scheming. The DiMera family is preparing to resurrect their patriarch and declare war on anyone who opposes them. And Stephanie Johnson is about to face the monster from her past all over again.

Rachel Black is in Bayview with a possibly-faking-it Sophia Choi. Alex Kiriakis receives a mysterious white powder that turns out to be a bio threat. Shawn Brady takes a bullet in a police shootout. Dimitri von Leuschner returns. Chanel tells Johnny she’s PREGNANT.

This isn’t just a winter preview. This is Salem preparing to implode.

The Instagram description says it perfectly: “In Salem, every shadow reveals the truth and love always comes at a price. This time, no secret stays in the dark.”

Buckle up. It’s about to get messy.
