General Hospital
GH’s Anna Devane Has a Lying Cop on One Side and a Dead Man Giving Orders on the Other
General Hospital: Anna Devane left a psych ward for a murder case, with a lying partner on one side and a dead man giving orders on the other.
A PSYCH PATIENT WITH A BADGE? WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG FOR ANNA DEVANE?
Anna Devane is back at the PCPD weeks after a captivity-induced breakdown, and she’s already got a partner lying to her face and a dead man whispering in her ear. Nobody in Port Charles seems worried about that combination except us.
Back on the Job, But Not All the Way Back
Anna Devane isn’t the police commissioner again yet. She’s shadowing Dante Falconeri for a couple of weeks first, easing back into a job she left under circumstances nobody’s fully explained to her. She wanted case files on the Spoon Island shootout. She got a partner who already knows more than he’s saying.
Jack Brennan sat right across from her and told her the shooter’s real identity was classified. When she guessed Cassius pulled the trigger to get his boss out of the way, Jack corrected her, then refused to say who actually did it. He knows. She doesn’t. And he’s the one person she’s supposed to be able to trust with this.
The Cover-Up Doesn’t Stop There
Every piece of evidence from that shooting vanished before Anna Devane could touch it, and Jack had an answer ready for that too. Nothing about his explanations added up to the truth, only to a version of it clean enough to keep her looking the wrong direction.
That’s the kind of lie that doesn’t stay buried forever, and Jack knows it. He’s betting Anna won’t dig deep enough to find the seam.

Who Actually Signed Off on This?
Here’s the part nobody at the PCPD seems to be asking out loud: Anna Devane came out of a psychiatric hospital after a breakdown so severe she doubted her own memory, and somehow that was enough to hand her a murder case within weeks. No evaluation montage, no hesitation from her superiors, only a badge and a cold case file.
That’s not a small oversight. That’s the department setting her up to fail, or worse, setting the whole investigation up to fail with her.
The Real Danger Isn’t Only Jack
Because here’s the uncomfortable theory: Anna built her entire career hunting men who bend the rules to get what they want, and now she’s taking cues from a dead man nobody else can see or hear. Peter shows up, drops a line, and vanishes before anyone can confirm he was ever there, and Anna keeps listening like he’s a credible source.
If Peter starts steering her toward revenge instead of the truth, Anna Devane doesn’t stay the detective chasing a crooked cop. She becomes exactly what she’s investigating, and Jack Brennan gets away with everything while she’s busy taking orders from a ghost.
Do you think Anna Devane is going to catch Jack Brennan, or end up equally compromised herself? Head to the comments and tell us what you think.
One of Them Is Lying on Purpose. The Other Might Not Know She’s Lying to Herself.
Jack Brennan picked the wrong partner to underestimate, and Anna Devane picked the worst possible moment to start hearing from the dead. Whatever’s coming next on this soap is going to hit twice as hard. Head over to our Facebook page and tell us which one blows up in her face first.
