ANNA DEVANE IS HEARING VOICES THAT WANT JASON MORGAN DEAD, AND HE HAS NO IDEA HE’S THE TARGET

Anna Devane looked like she was finally catching her breath after a panic attack at the pool, but the real danger wasn’t the flashback everyone else could see. On General Hospital, a hallucination only Anna can hear told her that killing Jason Morgan is the only way she’ll ever find peace again.

A Panic Attack Was Only The Beginning

Valentin Cassadine spent the afternoon talking Anna Devane down from a panic attack, gently theorizing that she might be dealing with PTSD after everything she survived in captivity. Anna admitted she’d been certain Faison was still alive and coming for her, confessing she almost wished he had been, only so the fear could finally end. Valentin promised Faison was truly gone and urged her to take time to heal, but Anna balked at the idea of anyone questioning her mental state, terrified the WSB might have her committed again. She swore she could handle things on her own and promised to find a therapist, anything to avoid losing control of her own life.

What Valentin didn’t see was Peter appearing to Anna Devane in the middle of that same conversation, warning her to stay silent about his presence. Later, while Anna watched Jason Morgan laughing with Liesl Obrecht and Britt Westbourne across a restaurant, the hallucination returned with a chilling instruction: the only way she’d ever find peace was to kill Britt, or anyone else standing in the way, including Jason. She said nothing out loud, but something in her expression had already changed, and nobody at that table noticed.

Nobody Around Anna Knows What She’s Fighting

Valentin thinks he’s watching Anna heal from ordinary trauma, and Liesl and Britt have no reason to suspect she’s calculating anything at all while she watches them from across the room. That’s the terrifying part. Everyone around Anna Devane believes the crisis already happened at the pool, when the truth is that crisis is only now getting started, hidden behind a calm expression nobody thinks to question twice.

A Mind Under Siege Doesn’t Stay Contained For Long

Anna Devane has spent years being the strongest person in almost any room in Port Charles, which is exactly why nobody around her is watching closely enough right now. A hallucination that only she can see and hear doesn’t announce itself to anyone else, and Anna has every reason to hide it, from fear of being committed to sheer force of will. She’s spent her whole career learning how to hide what she’s really feeling from everyone, even the people who love her most.

Jason Morgan has no idea any of this is happening. He accepted a simple barbecue invitation in the same scene where Anna was quietly calculating whether he counted as someone standing in her way. That gap between what Jason knows and what Anna is being told to do is exactly the kind of setup that ends in someone getting hurt before anyone else realizes there was ever a threat in the first place, and by then it could already be too late to intervene.

The Moment Everything Could Go Wrong

Watch for Anna’s grip on reality to keep slipping the longer this hallucination goes unchecked, and Jason is close enough to her orbit that a confrontation feels inevitable. If Anna ever corners him alone with that voice in her head insisting he’s the obstacle standing between her and peace, the outcome could turn violent before either of them fully understands what’s happening. Nobody in Port Charles is prepared for how fast that moment could arrive on General Hospital.

The version of this story that would leave Port Charles reeling isn’t Anna succeeding. It’s Anna coming within seconds of hurting Jason, only for something in his instincts or his own history with trauma to recognize that the woman in front of him isn’t fully present. If Jason manages to talk her back from that edge, it won’t be because he understood the hallucination. It will be because he understood Anna, and that connection might be the only thing standing between her and a mistake she could never undo.

Sound off in the comments: does Jason figure out what’s really happening in time to stop Anna?

Anna Devane Is A Danger To Herself And Everyone She Loves

Anna Devane isn’t a villain in this story, she’s a woman being torn apart by a hallucination that’s exploiting every fear she’s ever survived, and that makes what’s coming even harder to watch. Jason Morgan has no idea he’s already been marked as a target inside her fractured mind, and the two of them may end up on a collision course neither one ever saw building. On General Hospital, the scariest threats are rarely the ones anybody sees coming.
