Same Bureau, Same Playbook, Same Danger! Is GH’s Newest Doctor Actually a WSB Operative Planted to Watch Anna Devane?

GH’s new doctor Tristan Roberts might actually be a WSB operative keeping tabs on Anna Devane for someone else entirely.

TRISTAN ROBERTS COULD BE WATCHING ANNA DEVANE FOR SOMEONE ELSE IN THE SIDWELL CONSPIRACY

TL;DR: A new ex-WSB operative has introduced himself to Anna Devane on General Hospital, and his timing lines up a little too well with how close she’s getting to the truth about Sidwell and Cullum. Is Tristan Roberts really out of the bureau, or is he there to keep tabs on her?

A Rรฉsumรฉ Built Entirely on His Own Word

Tristan Roberts introduced himself to Anna Devane with a story that checks every box: five years as a WSB field operative, a recent stint as a doctor in Jakarta, and a brand-new position on staff at General Hospital. Every detail came from him, unverified, delivered at the exact moment Anna is closing in on who really orchestrated everything Sidwell and Cullum set in motion. A new hire with this exact background, arriving in this exact window, isn’t the kind of detail this show tends to hand out for free.

A new operative landing this close to Anna, with this specific timing, is exactly the kind of coincidence the WSB has never actually dealt in. Somebody benefits from a person like Tristan being in that hospital right now, and it may not be Tristan himself calling the shots. Whoever placed him there, if anyone did, picked the one setting where Anna would have the least reason to run a background check.

Anna isn’t naive about this. She told him outright that he’d only shared what he wanted her to know, adding, “once an agent, always an agent.” That’s a professional read on a professional threat, not a lapse in judgment. She simply hasn’t asked who might have sent him yet, and that’s the question this whole theory hinges on.

He Knew Too Much for a Man Who’s Supposedly Out

Here’s the detail that should worry Anna most: Tristan already knew who Josslyn Jacks was before anyone introduced them, calling her “the hero of Spoon Island” and claiming her star was rising in the bureau. That’s current intelligence, not old gossip a man carries with him on his way out the door. Bureaus don’t send exit paperwork with an active roster attached.

A genuine ex-operative loses touch with the bureau’s day-to-day. Someone still being fed updates on active agents’ standing hasn’t actually left at all, no matter what title is printed on his hospital badge. That distinction matters more than anything else in this entire theory.

The WSB Has Run This Exact Play Before

Port Charles has already lived through this precise setup: an ex-WSB operative who claims he’s out of the game, positions himself inside Anna’s orbit, and turns out to be working an entirely different agenda the whole time. Cassius Faison spent months operating exactly that way before the truth reshaped everything Anna thought she understood about him. That reveal cost her more than time. It cost her the ability to trust her own read on people.

Tristan is following the same operational blueprint: introduce himself as harmless, establish proximity, and let Anna’s own instincts vouch for him. The question isn’t whether that pattern could repeat. It’s whether Anna’s instincts, sharpened as they are, can actually catch it a second time, especially when the person running it has clearly studied what worked before.

What’s Actually at Stake If This Is a Setup

If Tristan is reporting back to whoever is still protecting Sidwell’s operation, that person now has a direct line into General Hospital itself. Tristan would have access to Anna’s patients, her colleagues, her granddaughter, and every conversation that happens inside that building. Nobody would need to break into anywhere. They’d only need Anna to keep treating him like a colleague instead of a variable she hasn’t fully vetted, one shift at a time, for as long as it takes.

The Danger Isn’t Charm. It’s Access.

Anna Devane has outmaneuvered Faison, Cassius, and every other operative the WSB has thrown at her, and she’s still the kind of target this bureau keeps circling back to. Whether Tristan turns out to be exactly who he claims or something far more calculated, the show has left enough open questions to keep this one worth watching closely. A track record like Anna’s doesn’t mean the next operation gets any easier to spot. If anything, a target this experienced is exactly who a smart operation would go to the trouble of studying first.
