But on May 11, 2026, Sonny Corinthos accidentally lit a fuse that is about to blow Sidwell’s entire game to pieces — and the man holding the match is Ethan Lovett.

When Sonny ordered Ethan to drag Ava out of her own gallery and stash her in his car while Sonny pointed a gun at Ric Lansing inside, no one was watching for chemistry. The moment he senses Ava Jerome drifting toward Ethan Lovett, he retaliates. Don’t be surprised if Sidwell tries to use Avery Corinthos or Holly Sutton as leverage. This has all the makings of a sweeps disaster — the kind where someone ends up in a hospital bed and someone else ends up in a body bag.

And here is the pick-a-side that is going to set Facebook on fire. Sonny Corinthos is the man who put Ava in that car with Ethan. Sonny is also the man who has co-parented Avery with Ava for years and considers Ethan an asset, not a friend. And that is exactly why this works. The audience did not see it coming. Sidwell did not see it coming. Ava did not see it coming. The only person who might have known what he was doing when he shoved her into that car is Sonny — and even he probably did not realize he had just handed Ethan the keys to the entire Sidwell empire.

If I know these writers, the next two weeks are going to deliver exactly the kind of slow burn that turns a one-scene flirtation into a sweeps endgame. Ava is going to push him away. He is going to push back harder. Sidwell is going to make a move. And someone — Sonny, Ric, Holly, Lulu — is going to get caught in the crossfire.
