A lesser schemer would fold. Ava snapped back that Avery never even met Jenz, branded the entire mess Sonny’s problem, and strolled out. No begging. No bargaining.

That is not a woman who fears the squeeze. That is a woman who has felt this exact pressure a hundred times and learned that panic is for amateurs.

Rewind the tape, because Port Charles has tried far worse than a stern Sonny. There was the warehouse that went up in flames with Ava inside, leaving her with burns over half her body. She flatlined on that table. She came back.

That is the part this town never seems to absorb. You can burn her, you can break her, you can lay her out flat on a gurney, and somehow she is back behind a gallery desk pouring wine before the season is out. Fire did not finish her. Almost nothing has.

They Shot Her, Dropped Her Off a Bridge, and Buried Her, and She Still Came Back

Then there is the matter of the bridge. Carlos shot her in the shoulder and knocked her clean off it, and the whole town read her obituary. Presumed dead. Mourned. Filed away.

Except Ava does not stay filed. She faked her own death to dodge a prison cell, slipped into a brand-new identity, and resurfaced when it suited her, every bit as dangerous as before. A woman who has engineered her own resurrection does not lie awake worried about a man with a grudge and a bodyguard.

The threats are never original. A Hook once put a blade in her stomach and she survived it. A courtroom once tried to pin a fatal fall on her and the verdict came back not guilty. Every weapon this town owns has been aimed at Ava Jerome at least once, and the woman is still standing in her heels.
